Day 1: Sumba

Arrival TMC Airport – Cap Karoso Resort

Upon arrival at the airport of Tambolaka in Waitabula, meet and greet with our guide and we will go to Cap Karoso Resort to check – in. Sitting on the shores of a coral reef and surrounded by turquoise lagoons and traditional villages, Cap Karoso is a luxe launchpad for exploring the Indonesian island of Sumba.

Day 2: Sumba

Ratenggaro Village – Weekuri Lake – Mandorak Beach

After breakfast, we will head to the village of Ratenggaro in the Kodi area. Here we will see the traditional high-roofed houses (actually the highest rooftops in all of Sumba), made all by hand and traditionally. This village is the only one of a few traditional villages left in the area, and while the village is just a compound of some houses, each house can accommodate up to 50 family members. During the harvesting season, however, most of the villagers will stay in their fields to work and only leave the elders and children in the village. Then we are going to Weekuri Lake, a crystal-clear lake that makes it a great place to swim and relax. Spend some time in the lake for a short (or long) dip. Do not miss walking around the rocks and reef, where you can also see the ocean from one side. Next to the Weekuri Lake we will find Mandorak Beach, guarded with 2 huge rock ridges pointing to the middle and crystal-clear water. Then we back to your resort.
