Arrival in Windhoek

You’ll be picked up at the airport and driven to your accommodation in Windhoek, the "Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel", which offers everything for a relaxing stay. With the day to yourself, you can recover from the long flight, take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or be pampered in the wellness area. You may also have the time and inclination to take a stroll through Namibia's capital, and at sunset it’s worth having a drink in the Sky Bar, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Klein Windhoek district.

Day 2: Okonjima Nature Reserve

You’ll be picked up at the hotel and taken to collect your rental vehicle, before proceeding north to Okonjima, where you are expected for lunch. Okonjima is the headquarters of the AfriCat Foundation, where the projects they carry out with leopards will be explained during your pre-booked afternoon game drive on which you’ll search for one of these, most elusive big cats. The comfortable, detached African-style bungalows each with its own lounge, you’ll be staying in are located within a 22,000-hectare private nature reserve in the middle of the Omboroko Mountains. Round off the evening with a delicious dinner.

Day 3: Etosha South

To Etosha National Park

Today you drive via Outjo to the Etosha Oberland Lodge, which is located in a 5,000-hectare private game reserve and promises an unforgettable bush experience. The lodge’s large chalets are lovingly integrated into the natural surroundings. Enjoy the unique ambience of the lodge, relax by the swimming pool, watch which animals come to drink at one of the two waterholes, or, as the lodge is only a few kilometers from the park gate to the Etosha National Park, you could drive into the park in the afternoon for some game viewing.

Day 4: Etosha South

Etosha National Park

Exciting animal sightings await you today in the Etosha National Park where you have the whole day to explore this paradise. On the way, and at the various waterholes, you’ll get to see animals such as giraffes, kudus, zebra, springbok and, with a bit of luck, even lions. Remember to leave the park by sunset at the latest and drive back to your lodge.

Day 5: Etosha East

Drive through the eastern Etosha National Park

Today you leave the private game reserve and drive through the eastern part of Etosha to Mushara, on the way taking the chance to stop at the various waterholes and observe the animals quenching their thirst. Just a few kilometers from the exit you’ll find Mushara Outpost, a comfortable lodge offering tastefully furnished tents set up on wooden platforms on the banks of a dry riverbed. With dinner why not indulge in a delicious glass of wine.

Day 6: Rundu

Trip to Rundu

Today takes you to the most densely populated part of Namibia, the Okavango River. On the way, you’ll see the picturesque round huts inhabited by the local people of the Kavango tribe. Hidden among the lush vegetation on the banks of the Okavango the beautiful Hakusembe Lodge is a remote paradise, surrounded by untouched nature. An unforgettable sunset boat cruise, with the view of Angola on the other side of the river, awaits.

Day 7: Divundu

At the Okavango

After being woken by birdsong you continue eastwards to the Caprivi Strip, occasionally getting to see the kraals of the Kavango and the numerous thatch traders selling sheaves of straw for the roofs of the huts along the road. The comfortable and luxurious Divava Lodge, your stay for the night, sits under large trees near the Popa Falls, directly on the banks of the mighty Okavango River, where you’ll get to take another boat trip at sunset.

Day 8: Divundu

Mahangu National Park

You have the opportunity to take a private game drive in the Mahango Game Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Namibia. Look out for some of the park’s interesting wildlife, including buffalo, elephant, hippo, and perhaps even the rare sable antelope. Back at the lodge, you’ll experience true relaxation and one of the quietest nights of your life - apart from the huffing and puffing of hippos, nothing else can be heard.

Day 9: Kwando River

Cross the Okavango and continue through the Bwabwata National Park to the Nambwa Tented Lodge where ‘pure Africa’ awaits. Surrounded by dense bush and deep sand tracks, the comfortable lodge is situated under high camel thorn trees. As it is the only lodge with a concession in the national park and is situated on one of the large floodplains of the Kwando River, you’re spoiled for choice here. In the afternoon you can take a boat trip on the Kwando, or a game drive in the Bwabwata Park.

Day 10: Kwando River

The area around the Kwando River, especially that around the so-called “Horseshoe” lagoon is considered to have the highest concentration of elephants in southern Africa, which you’ll go looking for today during a game drive in the Bwabwata National Park. Back at the lodge, you can relax and enjoy the typical African atmosphere of the lodge or take another boat trip. Fishing, guided bush walks, and a visit to a traditional village and craft market are also on offer.

Day 11: Chobe River Front

To the Chobe River

Drive to Katima Mulilo and return your rental car – from here on all further transfers are organized. You’ll be driven to Kasane in Botswana, where you board the Chobe Princess houseboat, your home for the next two nights. From the deck you look out on the Chobe National Park, where huge herds of elephants often migrate to the river. You may also see giraffes, kudus, waterbucks, lechwes, and impalas. Buffalo are usually only seen in the early morning or late afternoon when they leave the bush to quench their thirst by the river. The boat trip with a drink at sunset is unforgettable.

On the Chobe River

Spend the whole day on the houseboat enjoying the tranquillity, the African ambience, and the wealth of wildlife including hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, while the almost tropical landscape leisurely passes by. For bird lovers, this area is a paradise, with over 400 different species counted. You can also try your hand at "tiger fishing".

Day 13: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

The journey continues by transfer to Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya ("thundering smoke") in the language of local Kololo people, in Zimbabwe. The name comes from the spray that rises to 300 m and can still be seen 30 km away.  As the traditional Victoria Falls Hotel is located very close to the famous waterfalls, where huge masses of water cascade over a 110-metre cliff face with a width of 1708 meters, you’ll certainly visit them in the afternoon. Apart from the breathtaking spectacle of the falls themselves, Victoria Falls offers many other activities, including a visit to the crocodile farm, a sunset boat trip (also possible with dinner), or a helicopter flight over the waterfalls (optional).

Day 14: End of Itinerary

Departure

In the morning there is the chance to participate in one of the various activities available (optional). You’ll then be transferred to the airport around midday, departing in the early afternoon, and connecting to your onward flight to Europe in the evening.
