Lima invites discovery through its cuisine, where vibrant colours, aromas, and textures reflect the richness of its land and the pride of its people. Join celebrated chef Penélope Alzamora for a stroll through her favourite local market to select the freshest ingredients, pausing to uncover hidden corners of Barranco and perhaps savour an organic coffee along the way. Back at her apartment, a pisco sour sets the tone for an intimate cooking class where you will prepare ceviches and delicate tapas, learning the techniques that define Peruvian gastronomy. The experience ends with a feast of your creations, enjoyed against sweeping views of Lima’s coast.

Lunch during your culinary experience



Farm to Table at Hacienda Sarapampa
Feel the pride in every detail as the host of Hacienda Sarapampa leads you on an exploration of the property, culminating in a delicious farm-to-table lunch. Guests will watch the locals at work and learn about the history, spiritual significance and future of the famous giant white Andean corn. More than just an elegant lunch, it is an entertaining cultural journey.

Explore Machu Picchu
Meet your guide at the exit of the train station or in the lobby of your hotel for a short walk to the bus station and a 20-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu Citadel (elevation: 8,000 ft. – 2,432 m.a.s.l.). Scratching the surface of the heavens from its place atop the grandest of mountaintop pedestals, it is easy to lose yourself in the mystique and grandeur of this enigmatic citadel. Soak in the energy and atmosphere of one of the most significant archeological sites on the planet while your guide helps you uncover the secrets behind key areas of interest such as the Sun Dial, the Guard House, the Sacred Plaza and the Temple of the Sun.
