Early this morning you are transfered to the airport for your domestic flight from San José to Golfito (luggage restrictions apply). Upon arrival, land transfer to Punta Banco de Pavones. The rest of the day is free to settle in to your hotel, Casa Marea Alta - the little sister of neighboring Tiskita Lodge.
Casa Marea Alta is located on the edge of protected rainforest and right in front of Punta Banco's best beach breaks. Today hike the rainforests trails within the 800 acre Tiskita Reserve and Tropical Fruit Farm, where wildlife is abundant . Cool off with a refreshing jump in the natural tide pools along the reserve. Overnight at your hotel (B)
You may wonder in the streets of Punta Banco and try a small restaurant or soda for a more authentic meal.
Located on the beach and nestled at the bottom of protected jungle, Casa Marea Alta offers spacious ocean front rooms. Each room has a private bathroom, private entrance, shared hammock, and access to a shared fully-equipped kitchen. The home is located 6 km south of Pavones and a less than 5 minute walk into the beach town of Punta Banco. With just a couple of steps out your front door, you will feel the sand between your toes and are able to watch and surf the uncrowded and amazing waves of Punta Banco. If you're a surfer, this is where you want to be. With multiple beach and reef breaks to choose from, there is always a wave you can catch and only a couple steps from your front door.

This morning a land transfer back to the local airstrip in Golfito is provided. Board your domestic flight back to San José (luggage restrictions apply). Upon arrival, land transfer to the Arenal Volcano. Free Afternoon to explore La Fortuna or take an optional tour.
The main attraction for visitors in this region is Arenal Volcano which rises majestically some 3,000 feet above the surrounding plains. Arenal has occasional rumbles and small eruptions, and a constant emission of steam and other hot gases. It also produces nearly continuous flows of thick pasty lava known as “blocky lava” that breaks off in chunks and can be seen glowing bright cherry red on cloudless nights. The volcano is Arenal Volcano National Park’s centerpiece and it is surrounded by a vast rainforest of several thousand acres which is home to parrots, parakeets, four types of toucans and nearly 400 other bird species, 3 species of monkeys, peccaries and more.
Overnight at your hotel
There are also activities that you can enjoy completely free, such as walks around the town, visit crystalline rivers or visit Lake Arenal, and if you rent a bike, you can take a ride through different towns near La Fortuna such as El Castillo or La Guaria. Finally, your vacation in La Fortuna Costa Rica will not be complete, if you do not visit the Arenal Volcano Hot Springs.

This morning enjoy a guided walk to Arenal Volcano’s El Silencio Trail. This loop trail takes you through mature tertiary rainforest, scrambling over lava rocks from the volcanic explosion of 1968 and lets you appreciate spectacular views of Arenal Volcano and Lake.
The El Silencio property is a vast 555-acre (225 ha) reserve with over 247 acres (100 ha) of primary rainforest that includes many old growth trees including the Ceiba, Trumpet Tree, and Guarumo. The El Silencio Mirador also offers extraordinary views of the Arenal Volcano at the Mirador lookout. El Silencio Mirador is located in the high risk zone because of its close proximity to the Arenal Volcano, it is an area where new construction is not permitted but for the last 40 years it has been a safe place to observe the volcano and admire the spectacular view.
