Arrival in Windhoek

On arrival, you’ll be picked up at the airport and driven to The Hotel Heinitzburg, which is enthroned high above Windhoek, offering a magnificent view. With everything you need for a relaxing stay on offer, you can recover from the long flight or refresh yourselves in the swimming pool. Later you may wish to take a stroll through Namibia's capital, while, at sunset, it's worth having a drink from the terrace to take in the view of the city.

Day 2: Solitaire

You’ll be picked up at the hotel and taken to pick up your rental car before driving via Rehoboth into the Namib Desert. Your elegant lodge offers a breathtaking view of the endless expanse, which you can enjoy from your own plunge pool. Colours here range from red to light pink to pale green and there is a silence that can only be experienced in the desert. There are various hiking trails available, and the sunset tour of the dunes offered by the lodge is highly recommended (optional).

Day 3: Solitaire

Sossusvlei

Drive to Sesriem and visit the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. As the sun is still quite low in the morning, the high dunes shimmer golden, yellow and reddish on one side, but are dark and shadowy on the other. This makes the dune ridge stand out razor-sharp. You can take a short hike to the photogenic Dead Vlei with its dead tree trunks, and climb the highest dune, "Big Daddy", where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view at the top. On the way back you can visit the Sesriem Canyon, and then back at the lodge, relax and let the great experiences sink in once again.

To Swakopmund

Today you pass the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons and cross the central Namib Desert. You’re sure to see ostriches on the way, but perhaps also springboks, zebras, and oryx antelopes. Via Walvis Bay you reach the coastal town of Swakopmund, where you’ll spend the night right by the sea. The town center with its numerous cafés and restaurants is within walking distance and a reservation can be made at a restaurant with an ocean view (optional).

Day 5: Swakopmund

You take a very interesting boat trip in the Walvis Bay lagoon where you’ll see seals, dolphins, flamingos, and pelicans. Many activities are possible in the afternoon (optional). Later in the day you can enjoy the beach, visit the museum, aquarium or crystal gallery, or go quad biking in the dunes, etc. A sightseeing flight along the coast can also be booked (all optional).

Day 6: Erongo Gebirge

Trip to the Damarland region

You bid farewell to the sea and drive inland, along the way looking north to see the majestic Spitzkoppe, also known as the "Matterhorn of Namibia", which rises 600 meters above the plain. You then drive via Karibib and Omaruru to Epako Safari Lodge which is situated in beautiful mountainous surroundings on the edge of the famous Damaraland region. Here you can observe a variety of animals in their natural habitat at close range. In the afternoon, you’ll take part in a game drive as part of your "Fully Inclusive" experience, which means that all meals, drinks, and activities are included in the price.

Day 7: Ongava Private Game Reserve

To Etosha National Park

Today you want to get to Etosha National Park as quickly as possible, driving via Outjo to the Ongava Private Game Reserve. Your luxurious, grass-roofed chalet is built from local stone and has a private veranda, while the restaurant and bar offer a magnificent view of the plains and the waterhole, which is illuminated at night. In the afternoon, you can relax in this beautiful lodge or take your first game drive into Etosha.

Day 8: Ongava Private Game Reserve

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park is one of the largest game reserves in the world and is considered one of the most outstanding game parks in Africa. The animals are attracted by the Etosha Pan, a huge depression that is rarely filled with rainwater, but which has various waterholes at its edge where flocks of birds and numerous animals can be found all year round. You have the whole day to go on your own game drives in the park, but should you choose to only do so in the morning, you can book a guided game drive in the private game reserve of Ongava (optional) where you’re likely to encounter rhinos, in the afternoon.

Day 9: Onguma Nature Reserve

Drive through the eastern Etosha National Park

Leave the private game reserve of Ongava and drive through the eastern part of Etosha Park to the Onguma Game Reserve, stopping off at the waterholes along the way to see giraffes, various antelopes, ostriches and, with a bit of luck, elephants and lions. Make sure to leave the park by sunset at the latest and look out for the almost immediate entrance to the luxurious "Onguma The Fort". Magnificent sunsets with a view of the Etosha pan await you here, interrupted only by the wild animals and hundreds of camelthorn acacias.

Day 10: Rundu

Trip to Rundu

Today you continue to the most densely populated part of Namibia, the Okavango River. On the way, you’ll see picturesque round huts inhabited by the local people of the Kavango tribe. Your accommodation today resembles a remote paradise, hidden among lush vegetation on the banks of the Okavango. Here you’ll find untouched nature and the comfort of a beautiful lodge with a view of Angola on the other side of the river. At sunset you’ll take an unforgettable boat trip.

Day 11: Divundu

At the Okavango

Birdsong wakes you from your sleep. It's wonderful here right on the Okavango River! You continue eastwards to the Caprivi today, from time to time seeing the kraals of the Kavango and, above all, thatch traders selling sheaves of straw along the road for the roofs of the huts. The comfortable and luxurious Divava Lodge, situated under large trees near the Popa Falls, directly on the banks of the mighty Okavango River, awaits. Here, too, you take a boat trip at sunset.

Day 12: Divundu

Mahangu National Park

You can take your own game drive in the nearby Mahango Game Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Namibia. Here you hope to see buffalo, elephant, hippo, and perhaps even the rare sable antelope. If time permits, you could also drive to Buffalo Park on the other side of the river, or you can relax at the lodge and perhaps let yourselves be pampered in the spa. It will be very quiet at night, when, other than the huffing and puffing of hippos, nothing can be heard.

Day 13: Kwando River

You cross the Okavango and continue through the Bwabwata National Park to the Nambwa Tented Lodge, where "pure Africa", with dense bush and deep sand tracks, awaits. The very comfortable lodge, which is situated under high camel thorn trees, is the only one with a concession in a national park in this area of Namibia and, being situated on one of the large floodplains of the Kwando River you’re spoiled for choice - in the afternoon, you can take part in a boat trip on the Kwando or a game drive in Bwabwata Park (activities included in the price).

Day 14: Kwando River

Today you go on a game drive in the Bwabwata National Park where you’re sure to see elephants as the region around the Kwando River is considered to have the highest concentration of them in southern Africa. The landscape around the Horseshoe is also particularly interesting. Back at the lodge, you can relax and enjoy the typical African atmosphere of the lodge or take another boat trip. Fishing, guided bush walks, and a visit to a traditional village and craft market are also on offer.

Day 15: Chobe River Front Namibia

To the Chobe River

Drive to Katima Mulilo and return your rental car before being taken to Kasane in Botswana, where a representative of Chobe Water Villas will be waiting to take you on a short boat trip to the lodge. Situated on the Namibian side of the Chobe River, with a view of its floodplains, the lodge's exceptional location offers spectacular views of untamed Africa. The luxurious villas all offer an unrestricted 180-degree view over the Chobe River and the Chobe National Park. In the afternoon you can take part in our first boat trip.

You have the whole day to relax and enjoy the luxury of the lodge. In the morning a game drive into the Chobe National Park or a boat cruise is offered, and, in the afternoon, there are two different boat cruises to choose from. The abundance of wildlife with various antelopes, buffaloes, hippos, elephants, and crocodiles in this almost tropical landscape is impressive, while the area is also a paradise for bird lovers, with over 400 different species counted.

As you are booked “Fully Inclusive”, the activities are all included in the price.

Day 17: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Victoria Falls

A short boat trip takes you back to Kasane, from where you’re taken to Victoria Falls. The traditional Victoria Falls Hotel is within walking distance (10 minutes) of the famous waterfalls, called Mosi-oa-Tunya = "Thundering Smoke" by the local Kololo people. The name comes from the spray that rises up to 300 m and which can still be seen 30 km away. You can visit the falls, where huge masses of water cascade over a 110 m wide rock face (entrance to the falls not included), but Victoria Falls also offers many other activities, such as a visit to a crocodile farm, a sunset boat trip (also possible with dinner), or a helicopter flight over the falls (optional).

Day 18: End of Itinerary
