08 00hrs City & Table Mountain Tour:
A Cable Car has been conveying people safely since 1926 and was updated in co-operation with a Swiss company in 1999. With stunning views over the whole peninsula it offers a wonderful orientation for first time travellers to this part of the world. Closer to sea-level, walk through the historic Companies Gardens, the original gardens established to grow herbs, vegetables, fruit and grapes (for wine) to replenish supplies on the ships passing through Cape Town.
The gardens are surrounded by many historical buildings which you might choose to visit, such as: the Houses of Parliament, the South African Library, St Georges Cathedral, the Planetarium, the first University, our afro-centric National Gallery or the Old Slave Lodge. Then there is the Bo-Kaap, famous as the old Cape Malay quarter, inhabited in the main today by the slave descendants.
Moving a little higher once more, experience the noon day gun on Signal Hill as it reverberates over the City, while you take in the vista of the Atlantic Ocean, stretching out below you. For those wishing for an experience of modern ‘township’ living, take a tour into one of the surrounding formal and informal settlements of Guguletu, Khayalisha or Langa. This is a day in Cape Town that will fill you with the sounds and sights of the old, integrated with the modern, in this astonishingly beautiful city.

Cape Point lies at the most south westerly point of Africa and is at the tip of a magnificent nature reserve comprising indigenous plants, spectacular coastal views and Cape Wildlife including our seafood eating Chacma Baboons. There are several antelope species, ostriches and Cape Zebras to be found.
Travel along the Atlantic and Indian Ocean coastlines popping into some of our quaint fishing villages like Kalk Bay and Simonstown. Boulders Beach in Simonstown is home to the African Penguin’s most unusual mainland colony. This beautiful beach, discovered by (what started off home to) a pair of ‘lost’ penguins, now boasts hundreds of these incredible birds who normally reside on neighbouring islands.
Historically a Naval Base leased to Britain until 1957, Simonstown made history of a feathered nature when one of its female penguins was rescued after exposure to an oil slick. During her absence her life-long male partner sat on her eggs until she returned. Beside his behaviour being a point of fascination, his steadfast devotion was rewarded when she returned to her family on her release from the nearby rehabilitation centre further up the coast.
