Day notes

Upon arrival in Windhoek, after passing through immigration and collecting your bags, enter the arrivals hall and look for a Wilderness Safaris representative holding a sign with your name on it.

Your light aircraft flight departs at 15:10 so you will have some time - Wilderness Safaris has their own lounge where you can relax and there is a very nice coffee shop outside the airport building.

When you arrive at Sossusvlei your guide will be there to greet you and make plans for the rest of the day - I hope you can still get out and view the sunset from somewhere special.

Today you wont have much time as your flight departs at 09h50. Your exact departure arrangements will be communicated by the lodge management

Once you get to Swakopmund Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Wilderness Safaris [Tracks & Trails] who will transfer you to Walvis Bay [30 mins] and your hotel. You will have the rest of the afternoon free, the walkway and lagoon is typically full of flamingoes and it is a great opportunity to stroll and enjoy the birdlife.

Today the team from Mola Mola Tours will collect you for a fabulous day, in the bay observing marine wildlife from their boat and then the amazing coastal sand dunes that drop into the ocean - with a wonderful beach barbecue in between.

Today after breakfast, you will be transferred to Walvis Bay Airport in time to check in for your departing flight. [waiting for details]

Make your way back to Cape Town International airport and fly to Johannesburg and connect with your flight to Vic Falls.

Zimbabwe does still require proof of vaccination or a PCR Covid test - you will also need to get a visa on arrival or pre-purchase it on their e-visa portal.

Upon arrival in Victoria Falls, after clearing customs/immigration, please look for a Pearls Tours driver holding a sign with your name on it - who will transfer you to the lodge.

This afternoon is your only opportunity to view the falls, so please make use of the lodge transfer bus or a taxi and head down that way. Please read the notes below.

Suggest you have dinner in the lodge or there is a wonderful restaurant called Lookout Cafe, very close to the entrance to the falls, which has great views and good food. You would need to arrange transfers with the lodge or a taxi.

Day notes

This morning you will be collected by the driver from Pearls Tours, fairly early, and taken to the Botswana border, and from there on to Kasane Airport.

The light aircraft lodge flights in Botswana are only scheduled the day before, based on what guests are going to which lodges etc - so exact transfer times are only communicated the day before. be prepared to leave early as it is a 45 minute drive to the border and that takes around 15 minutes depending how busy it is, and then 15 minutes to the airport from there.

At the airport, please find the representative or office from Moremi Air [ask anyone in the airport building - it is small] and they will assist you to your aircraft. The flights are typically mid morning but we never know. We do not get issued tickets in advance.

I know this probably all sounds quite random and unplanned but it is how they have been doing it for decades!

Once you get to the lodge you will be in good hands - spend the next few days on morning and afternoon game drives, walks and if water levels permit - mokoro excursions. Water levels are low this year so water activities are limited at the moment.

Day notes

Today after your final activity and or breakfast, you will head back to the airstrip and flown to Maun - where you will check in for your departing flight. Once you have checked in, and if you have some extra time, there is a lovely cafe just outside the airport building called The Duck - nice spot to spend a few minutes.
