Day 1: Avenue of the Volcanoes

Your journey begins early as you head south from Quito toward the impressive Cotopaxi National Park.

Surrounded by vast volcanic landscapes, you’ll start an exciting downhill biking experience from the slopes of Cotopaxi. The route takes you along dirt roads through dramatic scenery of volcanic ash and Andean páramo, with spectacular views throughout the ride.

You’ll pass by the beautiful Limpiopungo Lagoon, where wild horses and native birds are often seen, before continuing toward the highlands.

In the afternoon, transfer to Isinliví, a charming Andean village where you’ll spend the night surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery.

Day 2: Chugchilán

After breakfast, begin one of the most authentic experiences of the Ecuadorian Andes.

Today’s hike (approx. 5 hours) takes you from Isinliví to Chugchilán, following scenic trails through valleys, canyons, and farmland. Along the way, you’ll pass through indigenous communities, where you may see locals tending crops and livestock.

This is a great opportunity to experience rural life and connect with the culture of the highlands in a natural and respectful way.

Arrive in Chugchilán, a small village known for its welcoming atmosphere and incredible views.

Day 3: Baños

Today you’ll take on one of Ecuador’s most iconic hikes.

The trail from Chugchilán to Quilotoa offers breathtaking views as you walk through rugged Andean landscapes. Upon arrival, you’ll be rewarded with the unforgettable sight of Quilotoa Crater Lake, famous for its vibrant turquoise color.

You’ll have time to explore the crater rim, take photos, or even hike down toward the lake (optional, depending on energy level).

In the afternoon, continue your journey to Baños, a lively town nestled between mountains and waterfalls.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

Your final day begins in Baños, known as Ecuador’s adventure capital.

You’ll explore the famous Route of the Waterfalls, visiting several stunning cascades along the Pastaza River. The highlight is the powerful Pailón del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron), where you can get up close to one of the most impressive waterfalls in the country.

After the visit, enjoy some free time to have lunch or explore Baños at your own pace—whether that’s grabbing coffee, shopping for local crafts, or simply relaxing.

In the afternoon, return to Quito, bringing your Andean adventure to a close.
