Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by an Albatros Travel representative and given a short safari briefing before being transferred to Eka Hotel, ideally located within a short driving distance from the airport.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast depart Nairobi and head southwards to the Amboseli National Park to arrive for lunch. 

Amboseli National Park lies at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340ft). The mountain dominates every aspect of the park and you can get the best views of its snow-capped peak from Amboseli. The parks fragile ecosystem supports a variety of game and is famous for its large herds of elephant. Swamps and springs, fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow, offer a watering place for the wildlife and birds during the dry season. 

There is plenty to do other than game viewing drives. Other optional activities include a visit to the Maasai village or the Amboseli Research Centre, the longest study of wild elephants in the world - (these will incur an extra cost payable direct)

After lunch, time for a siesta or a swim in the pool before an afternoon game viewing drive.
Return back to the lodge for dinner and a chance to share the days’ highlights.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives and with luck, the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro will be visible, creating a spectacular backdrop to the peacefully grazing animals.

We suggest an early wake-up call so you can head out on an early morning game drive to catch the animals as they wake up to start the day. The early morning is also when the animals are at their most active before the heat of the day sets in. Back at the lodge; breakfast is served with a wonderful view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After lunch, relax and enjoy your surroundings before heading for your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and your final evening in Amboseli.

Day 4: Karatu

Today you will drive to Namanga ,Kenya - Tanzania border where you will cross over into Tanzania where an Albatros driver guide will be waiting to meet you.  After clearing customs and immigrations procedures, you will drive to Arusha to arrive for lunch at  Arusha Coffee Lodge . After lunch, you will slowly make your way to Plantation Lodge which is ideally located a short drive from the Ngorongoro Conservation area.

Day 5: Karatu

Get up early to make the most out of your day in the Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world, measuring about 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area. Other important features found in the NCA are the archaeological and palaeontological site located at Olduvai Gorge and the early human foot-prints that were discovered at Alaitole in Ngarusi area. Because of these particular features and the harmonious co-existence between wildlife and people that has existed for many years, Ngorongoro Conservation Area was accorded the status of a World Heritage Site. The high walls of the crater itself, serve as a natural enclosure for an abundance of wildlife. There is a large resident population of varied ground game with the very real chance of you being able to see the "big five'.  Among the notable birds are Lammergeyer, Vereaux's Eagle and Egyptian Vulture, which make their home in the highest of the crater wall, the beautiful Rosy-breasted Longclaw, which appears on the plains after rains and flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos which are spasmodic visitors to the crater lakes. Return to your lodge before dusk, and in time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 6: Seronera

Today the highlight of the safari begins as you check out of your lodge and head to the famous Serengeti National Park where you will be hosted at a camp located in the Central Serengeti. On the way, you will have a chance to visit one of the world's most important prehistoric sites, Olduvai Gorge, for a tour and lecture. Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. Its name means 'endless plain' in the Masai language. It is from here that massive concentrations of wildebeest, zebras and other animals commence the annual Great Migration in search of pastures new, providing one of the greatest natural spectacles to be found anywhere in the world. You can watch golden-maned lions stalking the migrating herds, spot leopards at rest in trees at dusk and take a hot-air balloon tour at dawn as the sun’s golden rays illuminate the land.
Arrive at Siringit Camp ,located in the heart of the Serengeti . Check-in ,freshen up and followed by dinner.

Day 7: Seronera

Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives in an area which is world renowned as having plentiful wildlife to include big cats, African plains game, elephant, giraffe, hippo and even a remarkable array of birdlife.

One of the most breathtaking ways to experience this part of Tanzania is to float high above the plains in a hot air safari balloon.

Day 9: Mara North Conservancy

After breakfast  transfer to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Tarime Airstrip , near the Tanzania-Kenya border. Upon arrival  you will be met and transferred by road to Migori Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara.

Note: Baggage allowance is 15 Kgs /33Ibs in soft-sided bags. A fee for any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.

Upon arrival you are met by the Camp's driver guide who immediately takes you on your first safari on the way to the camp. Check in, briefing by the staff, followed by a good lunch while watching the hippos in the Mara River.

After lunch have siesta or you can sit out and watch the resident hippo pod belching in the water or grazing along the banks, view birds through your binoculars or watch zebra coming to drink.

Later in the afternoon head out for a game viewing drive in the conservancy. In the evening, a campfire is lit and you can gather with fellow guests to discuss the sightings you’ve had that day.

Day 10: Mara North Conservancy

Your time is spent on game drives through the conservancy, but you can also opt to visit the on-site cooking school, plant a tree and find out more about the environmental initiatives in place here by joining an ‘eco walk’. Night game drive in the Conservancy.

For an additional cost you can also join a guide and armed ranger on foot for a walking safari or take a more leisurely nature walk around camp focused on finding out more about the smaller animals and plant life found here. Dawn hot air balloon safaris over the Masai Mara can be arranged, as well as visits to a local Maasai manyatta (village).

Day 11: Mara North Conservancy

Awake to the sounds of the African bush and have an early breakfast. Depart on a full day safari to look for the Big Five in the Masai Mara National Reserve (with picnic lunch). Return to camp in the late afternoon.

Day 12: End of Itinerary

After breakfast, transfer to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
On arrival you are met and transferred to Nairobi Airport for your onward flight.
