Day 1: Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge for overnight. A bustling and vibrant small city, Arusha is the gateway to safari adventure in Tanzania. Set in the foothills of Mt Meru, Arusha enjoys a cool moderate climate and rich soils that historically made it a coffee capital of East Africa.

Time permitting enjoy an optional Shanga Cultural Experience.

A welcoming sanctuary of aromas, gourmet food and vibrant gardens, Arusha Coffee Lodge is the perfect start or end to an African safari. Set on a working coffee plantation, spacious, modern and comfortable accommodations sit among the verdant coffee bushes

Days 2 - 3: Randilen

Wake up this morning to a sumptuous breakfast and a tour of the surrounding coffee plantation. Then, make your way to the Arusha airstrip and fly to Kuro Airstrip, Tarangire National Park, for a game drive and accommodation. Named after the perennial river that sustains the entire park, Tarangire is famous for its large herds of elephant.

Enjoy a private picnic lunch in the bush.  Take a full day game drive thru Tarangire National Park then continue late afternoon to Tarangire Treetops in time for sundowners.

Tarangire Treetops is a truly unique accommodation experience. Luxury suites sit on elevated platforms among the branches of the surrounding baobab and marula trees, stirring up memories of childhood treehouses. Enjoy adventurous bush walks alongside elephants, game drives, a Maasai Village visit, and breathtaking sundowners atop Sunset Hill.

This evening enjoy a traditional Masai boma dinner at camp.

The following morning enjoy breakfast, a Bush Walk, and Maasai Village visit.  After lunch take an afternoon game drive thru the park before returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Days 4 - 6: Northern Serengeti

Early morning breakfast at camp before departing for Kuro airstrip and your light aircraft private SkySafari to the Serengeti National Park where dependin on time of year, you will stay at either Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Serengeti Migration Camp. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, The Serengeti has attracted and inspired naturalists, filmmakers, writers, conservationists and tourists for many years with its abundance of wildlife and playing host to one of nature’s greatest spectacles, the Great Migration.

Enjoy lunch at camp, afternoon game drives and dinner under the stars for the next three nights.

Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time. Hidden among the rocky outcrops Serengeti Migration Camp is located at the starting point of the Migration. Comprising of 20 luxurious elevated tents, each with spacious and richly furnished bedrooms, Serengeti Migration Camp blends seamlessly into the environment.

Serengeti Pioneer Camp is perched on a rocky outcrop in Southern central Serengeti, close to Moru Kopjes, and affords dramatic views of the Serengeti plains that drift endlessly into the horizon. A camp designed for limited impact on its natural surroundings, Pioneer has the feel of a 1930s mobile safari camp, but with all the modern day amenities of a luxury camp.

Lining the banks of the famous Grumeti river, home to pods of grunting and wallowing hippos, Serengeti Migration Camp perfectly encapsulates the luxury camp experience. Overlooking a kopje and sweeping plains across the river, the camp’s main areas are designed for enjoyment of the expansive view and being captivated by the colors of a spectacular Serengeti sunset.

Days 7 - 9: Karatu

This morning, enjoy one last game drive on your way to the airstrip for a scenic flight to Manyara airstrip, and a lovely drive through the highlands to reach the epitome of elegance that is The Manor.

Old-world grandeur recreated in a green and lush setting, the Manor at Ngorongoro provides a change of pace to a traditional safari. Located on a sprawling coffee estate with easy access to thrilling game viewing and discovery in the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park, the Manor also affords indulgent pastimes of croquet on the lawn, horse riding, picnics in the coffee fields, and brandies enjoyed over a game of snooker.

Over the next three days:

Spend a full day in Ngorongoro – with expert guides will introduce you to its vast cast of characters: lions, elephants and buffalo, cheetah and serval cats, hyena, jackal and black rhino. Plus The Manor has special permission to host beautiful bush lunches in a private part of the crater, away from the crowds. You can picnic in exclusive style without missing a wildlife-packed minute. Stand on the edge and take in the vast beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater is an experience that will remain with visitors forever. The result of a volcanic eruption 2-3 Million years ago, the caldera floor covers 64,000 acres and includes open plains, acacia thickets, riverine forest, and fresh and soda lakes.

Visit the loveliest National Park in Africa (according to Ernest Hemingway) attracting an astounding mix of life, from bushbuck and blue monkeys in the forests to tree-climbing lions in the acacia woods; from cheetah stalking antelopes on the grasslands to hippos wallowing in the mud. Most dazzling, though, is the flamboyance of flamingos – hundreds of the blushing birds flock here, along with more than 400 other avian species. Join a game drive after breakfast and stay until lunch, so you can picnic by the water’s edge.

Day 10: End of Itinerary

Enjoy a final breakfast in camp before departing for the Manyara airstrip and your SkySafari flight to Arusha Airport.  You will be met for a private ground transfer to the Arusha Coffee Lodge where a day room is available depending  on your outbound flight (and subject to availability).  Transfer by road to the Kilimanjaro airport for departure or to continue your African Journey.
