Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by your tour representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in at your hotel, you visit the world heritage site of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Evening at your own leisure.

Day 2: Cape Town

This morning you will enjoy spectacular views from the cable car and mountain summit during your tour of Table Mountain. Then embark on a scenic tour of the Company Gardens, a park and heritage site in the heart of the city, created in the 1650s by European settlers to grow fresh produce to replenish ships rounding the tip of Africa. Visit Parliament, a neoclassical heritage site. The flea market in Greenmarket Square is where you will have lunch and acquire a vibrant cultural experience along with local crafts. Tour the Castle of Good Hope, which is one of the oldest structures in Africa. Dinner is a 14-dish tasting menu honouring African culinary traditions combined with modern techniques.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today is a full scheduled tour of the Cape Winelands. It begins with a delightful drive that winds its way through superb mountain ranges intersected by vineyards of the Cape Dutch Homesteads. You enter wine country by way of Stellenbosch, which is the heart of South Africa’s wine industry and boasts great beauty, culture, and history.  Explore oak-lined Dorp Street which is famous for its heritage buildings,  museums, and coffee shops. The old Lutheran Church, also an art gallery, provides a fitting backdrop to this historical lane. Take in the classic Cape Dutch architecture on the way to your first wine tasting at the premier estate, Delaire Graff. Then, on to Boschendal Wine Farm and its 300-year old manor house and gardens - you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the Rhone Rose Garden. A tour of the cellar comes before you indulge in a chocolate and wine tasting. Afterward, you will explore Franschhoek, its quaint stores, and the Huguenot Memorial. Dinner is a food and wine pairing at Grand Provence, before returning to Cape Town.

Day 4: Cape Town

This full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula begins with a drive of never-ending breath-taking scenery along the Atlantic Seaboard, stretching from the V&A Waterfront to your first stop in Hout Bay. From this quaint village’s fishing harbour, you will take a 40-minute cruise charter, past the famous Maori Bay Wreck, to the protected home of thousands of wild Cape Fur Seals - Duiker Island Seal Colony. You then journey, via Chapman’s Peak where there will be a photo-stop, to Boulders Beach to see the colony of vulnerable African Penguins in their natural habitat. You will visit nearby Simon's Town for lunch. Then, take in the countryside en-route to the southern-most point of the Cape Peninsula - Cape of Good Hope. There are three promontories that tower over 200m above the sea - Cape of Good Hope, Cape Maclear and Cape Point. At Cape Point you take the Funicular Railway to the old lighthouse and panoramic views at the summit. Evening at your own leisure.

Day 5: Gauteng

After breakfast, transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport where you will be met by your tour representative and will depart for Soweto, a cluster of townships located southwest of Johannesburg. Lunch is for your choice on the most famous street in Soweto, Vilakazi Street. Today you will learn about South Africa’s journey to democracy as presented in the Nelson Mandela and Apartheid National Museums. Then in the Johannesburg precinct, Constitution Hill, you visit the seat of the Constitutional Court of South Africa which is a living museum that tells an ultimately inspiring story. After check-in at your hotel, rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 6: Mpumalanga Highlands

Three hours from Johannesburg, deep within a magnificent forest, is a place commonly referred to as ‘Scotland’s Only Outpost in Africa’ or ‘the Place of Eternal Mist’. On the map, it’s called Dullstroom. Despite its widespread appeal, Dullstroom still has its own calm, distinctive, and singular atmosphere. After lunch, explore the original architecture, quaint stores, artisan shops, art galleries and spas which line Dullstroom’s main street. At 6,814 feet above sea level, Dullstroom has the highest railway station in South Africa. This picturesque area is known as the fly-fishing mecca of South Africa and attracts anglers from across the world. Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate and its many recreational facilities include fly-fishing and, between the many activities offered on the estate, you can also just sit beside a log fire with a glass of red wine.

Day 8: Kapama Private Game Reserve

Today is your first of two full days on safari so make sure to explore all Kapama has to offer. Apart from your two daily game drives (at sunrise and at sunset), you can choose to go on nature walks, secure a once-in-a-lifetime interaction with elephants at Camp Jabulani, or even learn about rehabilitating wildlife at the Hoedspruit Centre for Endangered Species and view them at close range. For the adventurous, a romantic sleep out under the stars on an elevated bush platform is just one of the additional experiences you can add.
