Day 5: Eastern Hwange National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives
Set out at the break of dawn when animals are most active, whether venturing into the renowned Hwange National Park or exploring our expansive 15,000-acre private concession. The opportunity to catch cats on the hunt is high in the light of early morning.

Evening drives set out just before golden hour, another time of day when animals are most active. Huge herds of elephants and buffalo can usually be found near the watering holes as the sun sets.

Game walks
Zimbabwe is renowned for walking safari, with Zimbabwean guides widely considered the best in Africa. Embark on a walking safari with the expertise of our professional resident guides, who will accompany you as you encounter many of the big five on foot. Observe elephants and buffalo up close in complete safety, and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem as you walk amidst the wilderness.

Painted Dogs
Zimbabwe is a strongholds for African Painted Dogs and boasts one of the largest populations of this endangered species. Visit the Hwange Research Centre to learn more about these often misunderstood animals, and the efforts underway for their conservation, rehabilitation and research. There is no entry fee charged but the program kindly asks visitors to either buy something from the curio shop with proceeds going to the program or welcomes any donations.

Day 8: Mana Pools National Park

This is a proper bush camp with no wifi and with bucket showers!

It’s all about the safari here and this, without a doubt, has to include a guided bush walk. Makes sense since this is the only National Park in the world where you are allowed to walk freely in the wild with animals to experience it on foot. When we talk about walking in the wild, we mean you’re walking in the wild. It’s just you, your guide and the bush. A chance to see four of the Big 5(excluding rhino).

Game drives in open safari vehicles.

Bird watching is spectacular. Whether from the lodge, your own private patio or out in the bush on an activity. Birds are everywhere. Take your binos and camera along.

Stargazing sleepouts from the star bed (must be requested in advance). A raised wooden structure, your bed, a mosquito net and the endless night skies. In the background the sounds of nature. Immerse yourself. It’s safe and truly special.

Catch and release fishing from land. You could be lucky enough to catch a tiger fish or tilapia (bream).
