COVID-19: ACTIVITIES & SERVICES

Day 1: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

The Africa Explore Safaris representative will meet you on arrival in Johannesburg and assist you with the check in at OR Tambo International Airport for your scheduled one hour long domestic flight to Hoedspruit.

A shuttle service will meet you at the airport near Hoedspruit on your arrival and take you on the short drive directly to Timbavati Private Nature Reserve where your Ranger will meet you for the short drive to the authentic, Eco-friendly and Off-The-Grid solar powered Umlani Bush Camp.

Check in to your eco-friendly rooms and enjoy a light lunch. You have a little time to explore the lodge and surroundings before meeting in the afternoon for coffee and cookies. Your Ranger will take you out on your first Game Drive to view the wild animals in their natural habitat.

You return at or a little after sunset to relax and have dinner. The dinner venue changes according to the weather and you may well be dining in the Boma under the starry African sky.

Expert tips

Ensure that your camera batteries are placed on charge when you reach the Lodge. You will feel the need to take MANY pictures.

Your rooms are built with natural materials making them airy and cool but they are not air-conditioned. It is only in mid-summer that this should be a factor due to the construction and thatch roofs of the buildings.

Please do not use hair driers and electric shavers as the solar batteries do not support this type of high energy demand.
