Begin your biking adventure descending from the Andes into the lush cloud forest of Mindo. Ride along scenic mountain roads surrounded by misty forests, tropical vegetation, and incredible biodiversity as you make your way toward one of Ecuador’s most famous birding regions.

Today we explore the beautiful cloud forest landscapes between Nono and Mindo. Cycle along quiet mountain roads with spectacular views of valleys and forest-covered hills while enjoying the rich biodiversity of the Chocó region.
Visit one of Ecuador’s traditional indigenous markets—Saquisilí (Thursday) or Zumbahua (Saturday)—where local communities gather to trade colorful textiles, produce, and handicrafts. Later continue to the stunning Quilotoa volcanic lagoon for a scenic trek along the crater with breathtaking views of the turquoise lake.
The village of Quilotoa is set at 3,800m so remember to stay hydrated throughout the day to help avoid the effects of the altitude. It can also be very windy and cold, so be prepared.
Arrive at Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world’s highest active volcanoes. We hike up to the Cotopaxi refuge to acclimatize and prepare for the upcoming climb while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding páramo landscape.

Transfer to a rainforest lodge near Tena and begin exploring the Amazon basin. Paddle along the Arajuno River by kayak, surrounded by dense rainforest, and later enjoy a guided night walk to discover the incredible nocturnal life of the jungle.

On the way back to Quito, stop at a beautiful hummingbird reserve where several colorful species visit the feeders. Continue to Papallacta to relax in the natural hot springs surrounded by Andean landscapes before transferring back to Quito.
