Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek
You are met by your guide at the airport and transferred to Windhoek, where you check into a stylish guesthouse in the quiet suburb of Klein Windhoek. After some time to relax following your flight, enjoy a guided city tour and conclude the day with a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 – Into the Kalahari Desert
After breakfast, drive south via Rehoboth and Kalkrand into the Kalahari – a vast semi-desert characterised by red dunes, acacia trees, and golden grasslands. In the late afternoon, enjoy a sundowner drive through the rolling dunes to experience the warm light and tranquil atmosphere of the desert.

Day 3 – To Sesriem / Sossusvlei
Continue west via the Tsarisberg Pass towards the Namib Desert. The landscape unfolds into open plains and rugged mountain ridges as you approach your lodge, set in a private nature reserve bordering the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Enjoy the vastness and silence of the desert from your terrace or take an optional nature walk in the afternoon.

Day 4 – Sossusvlei and Deadvlei
Rise early for an excursion into the Namib-Naukluft Park to visit Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, where the morning sun paints the towering dunes in shades of red and gold. Walk across the dazzling white clay pan, where ancient camelthorn trees stand as dark silhouettes against the sand. On the way back, visit Sesriem Canyon, a deep chasm carved by the Tsauchab River.

Day 5 – To Swakopmund
Travel north through the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons towards the Atlantic coast. En route, look out for springboks, ostriches, and oryx wandering across the desert plains. Arrive in Swakopmund, a charming seaside town with colonial architecture and a refreshing coastal breeze. Dinner is arranged at a local restaurant.

Day 6 – Swakopmund and Walvis Bay
After breakfast, drive to Walvis Bay for a catamaran cruise on the lagoon, where dolphins, pelicans, seals, and flamingos abound – and with luck, you may even spot whales. In the afternoon, join a fascinating Living Desert Tour, which unveils the hidden life of the dunes, including geckos, chameleons, and sand vipers.

Day 7 – Erongo Mountains

Upon arrival, take part in a guided rock painting walk through the surrounding granite formations, learning about ancient San art and culture. In the late afternoon, enjoy a sundowner nature walk with panoramic views over the rugged landscape.

Day 8 – Twyfelfontein
Continue north through the Damaraland region to Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, join a guided excursion to visit the rock engravings, the Organ Pipes, and the Burnt Mountain.

Day 9 – Desert-Adapted Elephants of Damaraland
This morning, embark on a 4x4 safari in the dry riverbeds of the Aba-Huab and Huab. With luck, you may encounter the rare desert-adapted elephants, specially evolved to survive in these harsh conditions. The scenery is breathtaking – endless horizons, dramatic rock formations, and wide open skies.

Day 10 – Etosha National Park
Drive north towards Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. The park’s salt pan shimmers on the horizon, surrounded by grasslands and acacia trees. After checking in, head into the park for your first guided game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and lions.

Day 11 – Exploring Etosha National Park
Spend a full day on game drives through Etosha. The park’s numerous waterholes attract an extraordinary variety of wildlife, from antelope and rhinos to predators such as lions and cheetahs. Watch giraffes and elephants congregate at the water’s edge and enjoy picnic stops at scenic viewpoints.

Day 12 – Across Etosha to the East
Continue your exploration of Etosha as you traverse the park from west to east, stopping at several key waterholes to observe wildlife interactions. Exit the park through the Von Lindequist Gate and drive to your charming lodge set amidst mopane woodland.

Day 13 – Okonjima Nature Reserve
Travel south via Tsumeb and Otjiwarongo to the Okonjima Nature Reserve, home of the AfriCat Foundation. This private 22,000-hectare reserve is dedicated to the protection of Namibia’s large carnivores. In the afternoon, take part in a leopard-tracking game drive – a memorable experience and a fitting conclusion to your journey.

After breakfast, drive back to Windhoek, where your guide will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
