Welcome to Malawi! On arrival at Chileka International Airport you will be met by a Crafted Africa guide who will welcome and transfer you to Mkulumadzi Lodge situated right within Majete Wildlife Reserve, one of the outstanding success stories of African conservation. You will spend two nights of your tour here.
Surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession, Mkulumadzi enjoys an idyllic location at the confluence of two rivers shaded by giant leadwood trees. It is the perfect combination of splendid isolation and first-class facilities. Undiscovered by tourists, Majete is a true wilderness where every trip into the bush with a team of experienced guides will feel like an adventure.
Today you will rise and go on your last activity in Majete Wildlife Reserve before being jetted off to the stunning Satemwa Tea Estates. You will be transferred to the wonderful home of Huntingdon House for the next 2 nights.
Go for guided walks around the estates, play croquet on the lawn, take a tour of the coffee factory and do some tea tasting. Don't forget to take a trip up to the picnic spot for sundowners for a birds eye view of the estate and far beyond.
You can even take a day trip to Mulanje mountain and do some hiking before heading back to the house to enjoy a home cooked meal and a tea/coffee related cocktail by the fire in the drawing room.
Today you will be transferred to the Shire River where you will be met by the Kuthengo Camp staff and transferred via boat to your home for the next 2 nights.
You will settle into your room on arrival and rest. That afternoon you will be taken on your first game drive to explore the wildlife of Liwonde National Park. After your activity you will be brought back to the camp in time to freshen up before enjoying an al fresco dinner and campfire stories.
Up bright and early the next morning for your morning activity, choose from game drives, walking safaris or boating safaris!
After your activity, hop in the swimming pool or do some birding on your private deck before lunch.
After lunch, why not have a siesta or read a book by the pool before your evening activity.
Game drive and dinner and a good nights' sleep lay ahead.
Off to the Lake we go! Early rise today as you will be transferred to Kamuzu International Airport for your flight to the incredible Likoma Island. Settle into your gorgeous chalet at Kaya Mawa (which means 'maybe tomorrow' in the local language of Chichewa) and take a dip in the warm waters of Lake Malawi.
Take advantage of all the exciting waterbased activities like paddelboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, or just a sunset cruise. A must see is St Peter's Cathedral. Said to be the same size as Winchester Cathedral. Its stained-glass windows, crumbling masonry and sheer scale are testament to the zeal of its missionary creators' religious conviction.
Climb the tower for spectacular views. If you’re lucky you might meet the charming verger, who’ll happily give you a tour, and you’re welcome to join in the vibrant service on a Sunday morning.
Today you will be transferred back to Likoma Airstrip for your flight back to Lilongwe where you will be met by your trusted Crafted Africa guide to take you to your home for your last night in Malawi, Kumbali Country Lodge.
Situated on a 650-hectare forested reserve and dairy farm in Lilongwe, Kumbali Country Lodge offers travelers an idyllic stay in Malawi's capital city. Just 10 minutes from central Lilongwe, you will find yourself gazing at a beautiful forested area rather than the buildings of a bustling capital city.
Take a dip in their sparkling pool, roam the idyllic gardens, cycle the grounds and see what birds you can find, take a tour through the banana plantations or their homegrown coffee factory.
Today you will wave goodbye to Malawi for now. You will be transferred from Kumbali Country Lodge to Lilongwe Kamuzu International Airport for your flight home.
