You’ll start your journey to Nauta with a lunchbox to enjoy on the way.
As the Delfin begins its journey, enjoy panoramic views from the third deck’s observation area. Your naturalist guide will provide an overview of the trip, including the schedule, activities, route, highlights, wildlife, vegetation, and useful details. Additionally, you'll enjoy the documentary Rivers of the Sun in the indoor lounge.

The first activity is birdwatching, as you’ll observe their displays and listen to their songs. You’ll board the skiffs and head to the Ucayali River’s shores, where large trees and old palms attract various parrot species. Keep an eye out for red-bellied macaws, raptors, woodpeckers, and swallows, and if you’re lucky, you might hear the distinctive calls of blue and yellow macaws.
You’ll search for hoatzins nesting above the water and, with some luck, spot a three-toed sloth. The Dorado River is also home to troops of brown capuchin and squirrel monkeys. As the sun sets, you’ll look for black and white caimans, fishing bats, and Noisy Nights Monkeys, revealing a new world of adventure.

You’ll travel downriver to a wide creek leading to a hidden lagoon. As you take in the beauty of the landscape, reflect on the wildlife around you, including hawks, terns, herons, and monkeys.
You’ll also encounter local people called the rivereños, in this place you can look out for specific monkey species like the pygmy marmoset, squirrel monkey, and the distinctive Monk Saki, with its thick fur and bushy tail.
On the skiffs, you’ll visit a local community to meet villagers who have lived in the Amazon for generations. You might visit a schoolhouse where children are excited to see visitors and explore an arts and crafts market run by the women of the community.
You’ll venture deep into the terra firme (non-flooded forest) of the rainforest. Your guide will highlight the dynamic creatures and vegetation of the Amazon. Stay alert for surprises along the way, such as Anacondas, Rainbow Boas, Tarantulas, Poison Frogs, and recently spotted porcupines. This trail is one of the few places in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve where you might see the elusive 2-toed sloth.

On the drive from Nauta to Iquitos airport, you’ll visit the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (Amazon Forever). Here, you'll meet baby manatees and learn about these endangered creatures, as well as other animals rescued from captivity.
Our land personnel will assist you at the airport with your boarding passes and check-in.
