Famed for its long-tusked elephants, strategic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and hundreds of species of birds, Amboseli National park is a photographer’s heaven. Located on the south western edge of the park, facing the mountain and overlooking its own private conservancy – Kitarua conservancy – is Tortilis camp. A pioneer in low impact, high comfort accommodation and the first of its size to operate 100% on solar power, Tortilis camp is the setting example of eco-tourism. The en-suite tents are spacious, comfortable and offer views of Mt. Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Game drives in open sided vehicles and exclusive access to Kitarua conservancy are some of the privileges to behold at the camp, as well as guided bush walks and stunning sundowners.

After an early breakfast you will depart by road to Namanga border where you will clear with the customs and immigration formalities and exchange vehicle then proceed to Arusha Coffee Lodge for a relaxing lunch and a visit to Shanga. Proceed with a short flight to Manyara Airstrip to lessen time on the road transfer to Ngorongoro area

Gibb’s Farm is one of the first guesthouses in Northern Tanzania, and started out as a coffee farm before being refurbished to a homely inn. Located in Karatu, the views from Gibb’s farm overlook the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Forest. The spacious guest cottages each have a distinct theme and a cosy atmosphere with the eucalyptus wood floors and warm fire places for the cool nights. Every day at Gibb’s farm is an adventure – whether visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, cycling through the back roads of Karatu, enjoying a walk through the farm’s organic vegetable and terraced flower gardens, learning about the Iraqw culture or exploring the waterfalls and elephant caves, there is always plenty to do. And if that sounds like a handful, after it all you can indulge in one of the indigenous Maasai healing treatments offered at Gibb’s Farm African Spa.

Offering unrivalled luxury, Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is situated in the Wogakurya Hills, close to the Mara River on the Tanzanian side of the border and within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration.
