Day notes

Most International flights arrive at lunchtime into Maun so there is no problem to keep on going straight through to Camp Kalahari with a charter flight in a light aircraft which would take about 60mins from Maun. One here we have two full days to enjoy this ancient and fascinating ecosystem that is dominated by the salt pans of the Makgadigadi. Despite the dryness of the area there is still a remarkable amount of wildlife which includes Springbok, Oryx, Giraffe, Zebra and many smaller mammals and for these the highlight has to be spending time with a habituated meerkat family as they go about their day foraging.

Day notes

This camp is in a private concession area on the Northern side of the Okavango Delta. It is a complex area of tree covered islands, waterways, grasslands and extensive Mopane woodlands as you move through the concession away from the permanent waters of the Delta. This area is famous for its big herds of buffalo and also some very successful wild dog packs hunt and live here along with the other big predators so there is always something going on that we will find of interest during our time here.

Day notes

This beautiful camp is on the South Eastern side of the famous Okavango Delta and also in a private concession area so you will really feel the beauty and remoteness of this famous and important ecosystem. I rate this area of the Delta as probably the best currently with excellent sightings of all your main predators including Cheetah.

During your time here we will be able to do a combination of activities that we can do to explore the amazing diversity of habitats that make these systems so complex and rich.  This would include game drives, bush walks, night drives, mekoro rides, and even fishing (Catch and release only) if you want to have a go in the clear waters of the Okavango Delta.
