Romantic City, Bush and The Smoke that thunders

Day 1:

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be transferred to Cape Cadogan for three nights where you will get to settle in and relax before heading out for dinner at one of the renown restaurants in the city. 

Day 2:

After a delicious breakfast you will be met by your private guide who will accompany you on a private guided tour to the iconic sites such as: Table Mountain Cable Way (Weather Permitting), Castle of Good Hope, Bo-Kaap, Noon Day Gun, Company Gardens, District 6 Museum, V&A Waterfront, Diamond Works Institute or The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Experience breathtaking sunsets, private dinners and couple massages whilst enjoying the sights and sounds that the Mother City has to offer.

Day 3:

Enjoy a full-day private guided tour along the scenic Cape Peninsula visiting top attractions such as Kalk Bay, the adorable penguins at Boulders Beach, Cape Point Nature Reserve (the South-Westernmost tip of Africa) and the breath-taking Chapman’s Peak.

Once you have settled in and freshened up at the hotel after your day tour. For dinner you will get to experience an unforgettable, authentically African dining experience at the Gold Restaurant.

Be swept up in the excitement with tall Mali Puppets, live tribal dancing and singing to the rhythmic beating of djembe drums. Enjoy a 14-dish tasting feast inspired by cultural deliciousness from the African continent.

Day 4: 

Honeymoon memories should last a lifetime. Our romantic Honeymoon winelands experience is unique and tailored to suit the needs of newly weds. To start, nothing says romance more than French Champagne. Followed by South African MCC and canapes. Our next stop is a small family run farm, a tranquil and intimate setting. Our final destination has dramatic views over Table Bay towards Table Mountain. A perfect end to a perfect day. And to finish off a surprise his and hers gift

Day 5:

1. After a scrumptious breakfast you will meet your private guide who will then transfer you to Cape Town International Airport, where you will board a flight to Skukuza Airport. On arrival you will be met by a Private Driver from Lion Sands River Lodge who will transfer you to the Lodge where you will be enjoying a stay in one of their Luxury Suites. Upon arrival you will be greeted by the friendly staff who will assist you in settling in.
2. Once you are settled (depending on arrival time) you will meet a professional guide and spotter for an afternoon game drive. The game drive allows you to discover many interpretations of the bush and all its inhabitants, related to them by our suitable trained and qualified guides. This is an uncontrived bush experience, covering a genuinely wild, wilderness area.

Day 6 - 7:

1. Rise at sunrise to head into the wild on your private African safari with your Field Guide and Tracker with a selection of hot drinks to warm you up accompanied by a professional guide and spotter.
2. After the game drive you will be taken back to the lodge where a scrumptious breakfast will be awaiting you.
3. After some relaxation time and an afternoon meal it is time for an afternoon safari. Depending on sightings you may stop for a famed sundowner in the African Bush. Afterwards it is back to the lodge to freshen up for a romantic private dinner experience.
4. Spend the night under the stars, on your own in the middle of the bush. Enjoy a delicious picnic basket of Tapas-style cuisine, and sip on a glass of good South African wine as you recline together under a blanket beneath the Milky Way. 

River Lodge offers quite a number of activities for you to choose from to complete the rest of your days for you to choose from. Please speak to the management for any additional activities you would like to book. An example of some of the included activities are as follows:

Day 8:

1. After breakfast - depending on your flight time - you will be transferred to Skukuza Airport where you will then board a flight to Livingstone Airport. Here you will be met by your private driver from Stanley and Livingstone boutique hotel and transferred to the hotel where you will get to relax and settle in before the next chapter in your adventure begins.
2. Once you are settled (depending on arrival time) you will meet a professional guide and spotter for an afternoon Big 5 game drive.
3. Once you have returned to the hotel you will have an opportunity to settle down and freshen up before being met by your private driver who will transfer you to your Boma dinner experience.  You will get to enjoy a superb selection of traditional Zimbabwean dishes and great nightly entertainment that includes Amakwezi traditional dancers, singers, a local story teller and a Sangoma (traditional healer). After dinner, guests are invited to join in the drumming extravaganza.

Day 9:

1. Embark on a spectacular private tour of the Falls. Proudly referred to as Mosi-oa-Tunya or 'The Smoke that Thunders' by the locals; Victoria Falls has a combined width of 1,7 kilometres (approx. 1 mile) and height of 100 metres (330 feet), making it one of the world’s largest waterfalls and one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Remember your raincoats! – it does get quite wet.
2. Once you are back at the hotel you will get a chance to freshen up and dry off before getting to enjoy a selection of dry snacks while viewing the Victoria Falls from the bridge spanning the famous gorge. Under steam gently chug towards the Jafunta Siding for your five-course meal prepared by the extraordinarily talented chefs of the Victoria Falls Hotel.
