Karibu and welcome to Kenya! You will be met by one of our representatives and driven to your hotel where you will check in and relax. Depending  on when you arrive, there may be time for optional activities such as a Nairobi City Tour or visit to the Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum (extra cost).

This morning, after breakfast, you will set out for the Sagana region of Kenya.

Just one and a half to two hours from Nairobi, the Sagana River meanders through Kirinyaga country - a true paradise for adventure seekers. Here the water rages wild enough to offer breathtaking rafting tours, while the surrounding cliffs and forests provide a dramatic backdrop. For those thirsting for even more adrenaline, there is a bridge further downstream from which the brave can plunge headfirst into the depths - bungee jumping in the midst of untouched nature.

But it's not just the river itself that attracts visitors with its action: those who like things a little quieter, but no less spectacular, should explore the nearby Groge Gorge. With its bizarre weathered formations and steep walls, it offers a fascinating natural spectacle off the beaten track.

Whether rafting, kayaking or ziplining - everything is possible here, and often even in a package. A perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Nairobi and let yourself be carried away by the wild beauty of Kenya.

Early in the morning, you set off towards Meru National Park, crossing the central highlands and the lush farmland of the region. If time allows, you can make spontaneous stops along the way to admire the pineapple, rice, and coffee plantations up close.

Your journey takes you over the mighty Tana River, winding its way from the Aberdare Mountains all the way to the Indian Ocean. You then pass through the picturesque Nyabene Hills before arriving in the charming town of Maua, where your safari camp for the night awaits.

After a delicious lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to explore the sister parks of Meru and Kora. Discover their dense jungles, rushing rivers, vibrant green swamps, khaki-colored grasslands, and the elegant, cathedral-like termite mounds—all beneath the vast, deep blue sky.

This remote and seldom-visited region exudes a wild and untouched atmosphere unlike anywhere else. With a bit of luck, you may spot Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffaloes, and more than 427 species of birds in their natural habitat.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off on a full-day game drive in Meru National Park - including an open-air picnic. Off the beaten track, the park impresses with its lush vegetation, numerous rivers and wild unspoiled nature.

The famous lioness Elsa, known from the book and film “Born Free”, lived here - a touching story that led to the founding of the Born Free Foundation, which is still committed to the protection of wild animals, especially lions.

Look out for rare antelopes such as the lesser kudu, duiker and the tiny dikdik, as well as elephants, hippos, buffalo herds, giraffes, gazelles and big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. Every moment in Meru is an intense nature experience.

Today you enter a world of wild beauty - the Samburu National Reserve.  In contrast to the lush Masai Mara, Samburu is rougher, drier and more mysterious. The golden sun bathes the landscape in warm ochre tones, while the Ewaso Nyiro River serves as a lifeline - here animals gather to drink, hunt and rest in the shade of the doum palms.

Samburu is home to the “Special Five”: the long-necked Gerenuk antelope, the finely striped Grevy's zebra, the elegant reticulated giraffe, the proud Beisa oryx and the exotic-looking Somali ostrich with its blue legs.

But the reserve also offers spectacular encounters beyond these five: Elephants roam the riverbed in large herds, lions prowl through the grass, cheetahs share their prey - and if you're lucky, a leopard will flash through the thicket. Crocodiles lurk at the water's edge, hippos splash lazily, buffaloes powerfully cross the terrain. In the air: a concert of colors and calls - over 350 bird species, from majestic vultures to iridescent kingfishers, from scarlet bateleur to drumming guinea fowl.

The morning awakens with the gentle murmur of the Ewaso Nyiro, whose life-giving waters characterize the wild savannah. The sun bathes the landscape in warm gold - this is where your journey into untouched nature begins. Elephants leisurely pass by the riverbank, giraffes stretch their necks towards the acacia leaves and, with a bit of luck, the shy leopard can be seen in the shade of the rocks. The river rises in the Aberdares and disappears into the Lorian Swamp - the lifeline of this wild paradise.

Samburu is home to the proud Samburu people, known as the “butterfly people” because of their colorful clothing and elaborate beadwork. A visit to the village provides an insight into their centuries-old culture - experience their dances, listen to the stories of the elders and discover handmade souvenirs.

A trip to the Reteti Elephant Trust, a local initiative that cares for orphaned elephants, is particularly beautiful. With one of the first community-run elephant sanctuaries in Africa, the Trust protects and rehabilitates these gentle giants before releasing them back into the wild - an impressive example of sustainable conservation and community work.

After breakfast, your adventure begins in the Ngare Ndare Forest, a lush, untouched forest at the foot of the snow-capped Mount Kenya. The drive there is an experience in itself - past vast savannahs and rolling hills that gradually turn into dense greenery.

The forest itself is a magical place where ancient trees, some over 200 years old, tower majestically into the sky. Their dense canopy provides shelter for an amazing variety of birds and wildlife. Rare species such as the bright green and red Hartlaub's Turaco or the mysterious Narina Trogon fly between the branches, while tracks of elephants, buffalo and even leopards can be spotted on the ground. The forest has always served as a natural corridor for herds of elephants that migrate back and forth between the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Mount Kenya. A highlight awaits you at a dizzying height: a 450-metre-long suspension bridge that winds its way through the treetops 30 feet above the forest floor.

Each step opens up a new view of the green sea below you - it feels as if you are suspended between heaven and earth. At the end of the trail, a viewing platform leads to a hidden swamp where elephants often gather to drink.

Then you continue on foot through the fragrant forest, past moss-covered rocks and babbling brooks.The destination?A spectacular waterfall that plunges into crystal-clear, turquoise-blue pools.

Here you can take a refreshing dip surrounded by untouched nature - a moment of pure freedom.

Drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a beautiful private game reserve known for its conservation programs and home to the last northern white rhino. The reserve is home to rare species such as Beisa oryx, Rothschild giraffe and black rhino. On the game drive, you can experience a range of African wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and hippos. Another highlight is a visit to the chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Institute in the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Other optional activities include bird walks, where you can observe several hundred species, horse riding and camel riding (at an extra charge).

From a cattle ranch in colonial times in Kenya to a pioneer of innovative conservation measures - the story of Ol Pejeta is as enchanting as it is inspiring. Today, Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to two of the last northern white rhinos in the world. It is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary set up to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has one of the highest densities of predators in Kenya and still runs a very successful cattle breeding program. Today you have the opportunity to observe the last northern white rhinos and explore the amazing wildlife of the sanctuary on game drives

After breakfast and check-out, you set off for Lake Naivasha, the first of the Rift Valley lakes, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Longonot. Lake Naivasha holds historical significance as the landing site of East Africa’s first air passengers, who arrived here aboard Imperial Airways’ flying boats.

Following a leisurely lunch at the camp, you will embark on a charming afternoon boat ride across the lake. This is a perfect opportunity to observe the diverse waterbird species and spot hippos in their natural habitat.

A highlight of the day is a visit to Crescent Island, famous as one of the filming locations for the movie Out of Africa. For the shoot, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species were relocated to the island—and these magnificent animals still roam the peaceful landscape today.

To conclude your visit, explore the small arts center on the lakeshore, where you can discover traditional pottery and weaving crafts. Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee at the cozy bakery before heading to your hotel.

This morning, after breakfast,  you will travel back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped at the train station to catch the train to Mombasa. Once in Mombasa, you will be met by a driver and driven to the coastal town of Watamu on the Swahili Coast. Check into your hotel and relax.

Wake up to the sound of the waves and enjoy a delicious breakfast at the resort. This full day is yours to relax and unwind. Lounge by the pool, walk along the soft white sands, or simply enjoy the resort’s lush gardens and calm ocean views. Watamu offers the perfect blend of serenity and natural beauty for a truly rejuvenating beach escape.

You may choose to explore the area with a visit to the Mida Creek mangrove forest, go on a turtle-watching or dolphin-spotting boat trip (extra cost), or simply stay at the resort and enjoy a peaceful day by the sea. The choice is yours in this idyllic beach paradise.
