Day 1: Buenos Aires

Arrival in Buenos Aires, airport pick up and accommodation at NH Buenos Aires City, in the heart of the historical center of the city. Rest of day, free.

Day 2: Buenos Aires

Breakfast. Afternoon Buenos Aires Bike tour. Discover the secrets of the city from a bicycle point of view, a different, ecological and healthy way to visit Buenos Aires. There are 2 routes, one departing from San Telmo and visiting the historic neighborhood of La Boca, home to the Boca Juniors football team, visiting Puerto Madero, the newest district of the city and also visiting Dowtown, place of the Cabildo, the Government House, Plaza de Mayo and the Cathedral. And the other route departs from Palermo to visit the wooded parts of the city and Recoleta neighborhood, the most European quarter in town, home of the famous cemetery and the posh stores cafes and restaurants

Buenos Aires Bike Tour Half Day

BUENOS AIRES SOUTH BIKE TOUR – 2 pm

Going to the south we’ll show you the history of the beginnings of Buenos Aires as a city. Its traditional houses, streets and locals will offer you the real essence of the original “barrios”.

This tour visits the neighborhoods of San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero, the nature reserve* and Monserrat.

Important: the Nature Reserve is closed on Mondays, rainy days or when the park authorities consider it is important to do so. This is why we can’t guarantee that it will be always included in the tour. In that case our guides will modify that portion of the tour, selecting an alternative enjoyable route for you.

Day 4: El Calafate

Breakfast and check out. Flight to El Calafate. On arrival, find your own way to Quijote Hotel in El Calafate. Accommodation and free rest of day.

Day 5: El Calafate, Los Glaciares National Park

Minitrekking Over Perito Moreno Glacier

The minitrekking runs from July 14th until May 31st

The excursion begins in the embarking pier located in “Bajo de las Sombras” port, about 6 km before the glacier Balconies- where you embark for a 20 minutes navigation across the Rico Arm, enjoying breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno glacier’s front wall.

You disembark on the opposite shore, where specialized bilingual mountain guides welcome you and lead you to a small shelter. After checking the last details, groups of not more than 20, follow their guides along the lake’s shore towards the edge of the glacier. Once on the ice the guides put each participant a pair of crampons on, and explain how to use them.

The 1:30 hours circuit that follows introduces you to the fascinating landscape of the glaciers: streams, small lagoons, gullies, cravasses and plenty of ice formations of the most incredible blues. The trekking is moderate. The ice surface over which you walk is irregular, but firm and safe. You will receive explanations about flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region and also about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier and eventually produces its rupture. After the walk, a stroll through the forest brings you back to the shelter

¿WHAT TO BRING?

Outfit: Sport shoes or trekking boots. Rubber and apres ski boots, as well as high heel shoes are not allowed. Comfortable sports wear, long trousers, warm sweater or pile, water or windproof jacket, sun glasses, sun block, gloves..

Lunch: Passengers must bring their lunch boxes.The Company does not have a food and beverage sales service.

Restrictions: due to the degree of effort and difficulty that this excursion presents, is NOT allowed for; pregnant women, people with overweight, some type of disability, or health problems.

Age: Between 10 and 65 years old.

All these services are provided daily. The complete tour with transportation from El Calafate takes around 10 hours.

The price does NOT include the entrance fee to National Park Los Glaciares or lunch.

Land transportation from El Calafate to the National Park (80 km) is included.

It includes an hour visit to the glacier balconies, where one of our guides will receive you.

Day 6: El Chalten

Go on your own to the bus station. Take the 8 am bus to El Chalten, arriving at 11 am. Time to enjoy a pleasant bus ride to to this patagonian village. Arrival and Accommodation at Hosteria Kau Si Aike. You could do  some self guided treks to recognize the surroundings

Breakfast and self guided trek to the base of Mount Fitz Roy (Laguna de los 3) or just walk about the awesome rocky peaks.

Free day for more treks, maybe Cerro Torre, or take an excursion north along the glacial valley to reach Lago del Desierto and Huemul Glacier.

Day 9: Overnight Travel

Breakfast and check out. Night bus to Bariloche over Perito Moreno Village. As the bus to Bariloche departs in the evening, you will have some more time to do some treks or to relax in the village. 

Day 10: San Carlos de Bariloche

Late arrival in Bariloche. Find your own way to the to Hotel. Check in 

Day 11: San Carlos de Bariloche

After such a long bus trip is is great to stretch your legs. Breakfast and free day. Suggestion: take a public bus to Llao Llao and rent a bike right after Cerro Campanario stop to do Circuito Chico on your own by bike.   If you are in a mood for a quick trek, go up Cerro Campanario and enjoy one of the better views in Bariloche.

Day 12: San Carlos de Bariloche, Lake District Argentina

Breakfast and pick up for a half day kayaking excursion in pleasant Lago Gutierrez.  Float in the pristine glacial waters along a wooded coast, enjoy, relax and be touched by nature!

Day 13: Salta

Breakfast and check out. Find your own way to the airport. Flight to Salta. Transfer to your hotel. Accommodation at Inkai Hotel.

 

Day 14: Salta

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy this colonial city founded by the Spaniards arriving from Peru.    

Day 15: Purmamarca

Breakfast, check out and car pick up for a self drive tour in north Argentina.  

1st Day Itinerary Suggestion: Salta – Purmamarca – Salinas Grandes – Purmamarca.

Day 16: Quebrada de Humahuaca, Tilcara

Breakfast, self drive to Humahuaca

2nd Day Itinerary Suggestion: Purmamarca – Maimara – Tilcara (Pucara) – Uquia – Humahuaca.

Day 17: Quebrada de Humahuaca

Breakfast, free morning and at noon, self drive to Hornocal Hills 

3rd Day Itinerary Suggestion: Humahuaca – Hornocal – Humahuaca.

Note: to see the colors of the hills it is best to arrive I the afternoon/evening that is why it is best to wait and depart after lunch.

2nd Note: Car Rentals in Argentina don´t cover accidents in dirt road, and part of this road is dirt. You need to drive very carefuly to avoid any unfortunate events, but if you prefer to make it safer there are minivan services departing from Humahuaca City Hall that take people to Hornocal for a fair fee.

Day 18: Salta

Breakfast, check out and self drive to Salta to give back the car. Accommodation . This is the last night of your trip so we suggest you try to visit any Peña at Balcarce street. A Peña is restaurant where to eat local food and end enjoy folkloric music and dances.
