Day 1: Porto

Reception at the Porto Airport. Your  private driver will be waiting for you in Arrivals holding a sign with your name. You will be transferred to the hotel and Check-in.

Day 2: Porto

Full Day Private Tour Porto 

Porto is a city with many charms. On this private full day tour you'll get the chance to discover its most interesting corners, learn about its history, and see the most important monuments of the city.

Settled on the northern bank of the Douro River, this location has always been appealing to the different people that passed by the Peninsula, through the centuries, from the Romans, to the Moors and finally, the Christians. Because of its strategic location, Porto has always been a trade city, being its harbor the most important center for a long period of time. It shaped the city's landscape, traditions and people, details that you can still recognize if you wander around the old quarters.

Your private driver-guide will explain to you the history of the city and show you the old quarters full of charm and traditions and also the trendiest neighborhoods like Boavista and Foz, where you can admire a different side of the city and the modern buildings that were made in the last century and are already landmarks too.

The tour wouldn't be complete without your driver taking you to the south bank of the river, so that you can admire the beautiful landscape of the city, take the "postcard picture" of Porto and visit a Port Wine Cellar, where you'll have the opportunity to learn more about this famous wine, with a tasting included.

The historical city center of Porto is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, since 1996.

After the tour, you'll head back to your hotel.

Places you will visit: the historical center that is an UNESCO Heritage Site, Ribeira area (an old neighborhood near the river, which creates part of the beautiful landscape of Porto), Clérigos Tower (this icon of the city was created in the XVIII century), the Cathedral (XVIII century), Bolsa Palace, and of course the Port Wine Cellars.

Day 3: Porto

Full Day Private Tour to Guimarães  and Braga 

Your tour starts at 9:00 AM, when your private driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel. You'll be driven out of town, into the region of Minho, in the North of Portugal. As soon as you leave Porto, you'll immediately see a different landscape, with mountains filled with trees, vineyards and small farming fields, that will dazzle you.

The Minho region is like a small country itself. Its history and traditions, together with a unique architecture and cuisine, make it one of the most special places in Portugal. Guimarães, known as the cradle of Portugal, and Braga, the city of the Archbishops, are the two most important cities in the region, and both worth a visit.

Your first stop will be in Guimarães, the city known to be the Cradle of Portugal. Here you'll learn all about a man, called Afonso Henriques, who became the first King of Portugal. If you like history, this place is a must!

You'll start by visiting Guimarães Castle, a medieval fortification, located on the top of a hill, from where you can enjoy the most spectacular view.

Afterwards, you'll pass by the ancient S. Miguel Church, from the 12th century, and the Braganza Ducal Palace.

As you go walking down the hill, you'll come across ancient houses, narrow streets and former convents, giving to the city center a medieval vibe and one of the reasons why Guimarães was considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You'll pass by Santa Maria Street, Saint Claire's Church, Santiago Square and Nossa Senhora da Oliveira Church.

After exploring the city center, it's time for a typical Portuguese lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon you'll go on with your adventure and visit Braga,  one of the most important religious places in the country. In Braga you'll find dozens of catholic churches but you’ll visit the most important and beautiful. You'll start with Bom Jesus Shrine, a pilgrimage site with a unique Neoclassical Basilica, surrounded by a romantic park. This is one of the most recent World Heritage Sites, classified in 2019. Here you'll get some free time to explore the astonishing gardens and admire the view over the city.

Before returning to Porto, you will stop at the Cathedral of Braga, for a short visit. This is a landmark for the Portuguese catholics, since its considered the oldest one in the country. It's an imposing building where three architectonic styles combine: Romanesque, Manueline and Baroque.

Afterwards, return to Porto and drop off at your hotel.

Day 4: Coimbra

Private Tour of Coimbra

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then check out.

Today your driver-guide will transfer you to Coimbra and check in at your hotel.

Coimbra, where its ex-libris is waiting for you! Visit the oldest University in Portugal, the University of Coimbra, dated from the 13th Century, and considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in 2013. Visit the monumental buildings that will impress you, and learn about the history and academic traditions and the famous costume worn by the students, that gives them a mysterious look.

Stroll down the steps of the famous "Quebra-Costas", on a walk in the old part of town, with your driver-guide, exploring narrow streets, traditional shops and ancient buildings.

This ancient city, which exists since the Roman era, is full of history and life, which gives it a unique charm. You will also visit the Old Cathedral, the historical center with the Santa Cruz Church and the Barbacã Door.

After the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

Day 5: Lisbon

Private visit of Fátima, Nazaré and Óbidos

Breakfast at the hotel and then check out.   Your private driver-guide will pick you up and head to Lisbon.  On the way, you will stop in Fátima, Nazaré and Óbidos.

Your first stop, Fátima is a central Portuguese town that's home to the Sanctuary of Fátima, a Catholic pilgrimage site. The Capelinha das Aparições marks the spot where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1917.  You will visit the imposing Sanctuary that receives thousands of visitors every year.

Next, the fishing town of Nazaré, to visit the church of Our Lady of Nazaré that has an amazing view to the beach. Here you can find fresh and tasteful fish and seafood for lunch.

Afterwards, you will follow the coast until Óbidos, to visit the picturesque streets, Castle, churches and taste the typical liquor “ginginha”.

Then back on the road, towards Lisbon, arriving at your hotel and checking in.

Day 6: Lisbon

Private Tour of Sintra and Cascais

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Your private driver-guide will pick you up for your visit to Sintra and Cascais.

Sintra is a magical place near Lisbon, which is worth visiting at least once in your life.  Stroll through the mysterious Parque da Pena with an impressive variety of plants and trees. Discover caves and secret trails. Feel part of royalty when visiting the romantic Pena National Palace on top of the mountain, with stunning views over Sintra and the Castelo dos Mouros.

Lunch break in the village of Sintra, with time to visit the National Palace of Sintra, if you would like, and taste the delicious cakes of this village: the Pillows and the Queijada.

Surprise yourself and take the opportunity to take beautiful photos with the fabulous views of the cliffs of Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point of the European continent. Feel the strength of the waves at Praia do Guincho, a paradise for surfers.

You continue along the Atlantic coast, passing through the Boca do Inferno rock formation to Cascais. Admire the glamor of Cascais and enjoy a walk through the bay or the city's elegant cafes.

On the way back to Lisbon, you’ll pass Estoril, with its beautiful gardens in front of the Casino.

Day 7: Lisbon

Private Full Day Tour of Lisbon - 8 hours

After breakfast at the hotel, your private driver-guide will pick you up for a tour of Lisbon, starting in the Belém region.

Visiting Belém is mandatory stop in Lisbon due to its rich heritage. You will visit the Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site  and make short stops to see the Belém Tower and the Monument of the Discoveries.  Before leaving Belém you have to taste the delicious and traditional pastries, Pastel de Belém.

Next you will visit LX Factory, a historic industrial complex with several artistic stores of the most different concepts, unique restaurants and cafés, in addition to the bookstore that was considered one of the 10 most beautiful in the world.

Then, head to Parque das Nações, where the 1996 Global Expo was built, making it one of the most modern and beautiful areas of Lisbon.

After the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

Day 8: Lisbon

Day on your own to enjoy Lisbon.  You  can explore, shop and/or relax.  

If you decide to explore, here are some suggestions:

Visit the Terreiro do Paço Square, Lisbon’s Cathedral and the Castle of São Jorge where you will find one of the best views of Lisbon. Here you can also visit Alfama, Chiado and Bairro Alto, typical neighborhoods.   All are near the river, between a 15 -25 minute walk from your hotel.

Terreiro do Paco Square (Praca do Comercio) -  One of the biggest squares in Europe, this stylish area in downtown Lisbon often displays beautiful works of art and sculpture, and is a great place for a leisurely stroll.  

The Lisbon Cathedral - often called simply the Sé, is a Roman Catholic cathedral. The oldest church in the city is the seat of the Patriarchate of Lisbon. Built in 1147, the cathedral has survived many earthquakes and has been modified, renovated and restored several times.

São Jorge Castle - a historic castle, located in the parish of Santa Maria Maior. Human occupation of the castle hill dates to at least the 8th century BC while the first fortifications built date from the 1st century BC.

 

Evening dinner in a traditional restaurant with a Fado Show

Your last night ends in a typical Fado Restaurant, where you can appreciate traditional Portuguese food and  beverages, while singing along with the fado singer and the sound of the Portuguese guitar among other traditional Portuguese dancing and singing.

Your private driver will pick you up and take you to the  dinner and afterwards, pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
