Tanzania Journey

Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania you will be met by our representative and personally transferred to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for one night.

After a full English breakfast you meet up with your guide for your drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Wind your way through the scenic countryside arriving at Lake Manyara National Park late morning. Travel through an expanse of lush jungle-like forest where you may encounter hundred-strong baboon troops that tend to lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, or blue monkeys scampering the ancient mahogany trees. Arrive at the open grassy floodplain and enjoy the expansive views across the alkaline lake. Typically large buffalo, wildebeest, zebra herds and giraffe will congregate on these grassy plains. Your guide will find a picnic spot for you to enjoy your lunch. You then proceed through the park and continue your drive heading towards the Ngorongoro Crater. You may wish to stop for a market visit in Mtowa Mbu where stalls brim with vibrant local produce. Arrive at your lodge late afternoon.

This owner-run lodge and working coffee plantation is located at the foot of the southern flank of Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge is decorated in the style of a lavish colonial estate. Enjoy dinner this evening followed by a restful night’s sleep.

You will rise early the following morning and head into the Ngorongoro Crater with a packed picnic breakfast (which your guide will discuss with you and arrange with the lodge). Spend the day wildlife viewing in this incredible crater.

The accommodations we have chosen have been carefully selected based on the movement of wildlife and the annual wildebeest, zebra and other ungulates migration as they move from north to south in search of fresh grazing and water.

From June-December: After breakfast this morning you will head to the Manyara Airport for your flight to the Serengeti National Park. Bid farewell to your guide as in the Serengeti you will be under the care of your safari guide who is based in the Serengeti at your lodging.On arrival in the Serengeti you will be met by your guide and transferred to your accommodation

From January-April: If you are traveling during the months January-April you will travel with the same guide to Southern Serengeti to your camp as this is the time of the year when the migration herds are gathering in the south, so your accommodations we have chosen at this time of year will be located in the heart of the migration.

Arrive at your lodging in time for lunch after which you will head out on your first game drive. Return just prior to sunset to enjoy a cocktail while you swap stories with other travelers about their day. Settle down to dinner. Your first night in the Serengeti should be magical as you lie in bed and listen to the sounds of the wilderness.

Your Tanzania Safari comes to an end with a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. You transfer to the airstrip, bid farewell to your wonderful guide, and board your aircraft back to Kilimanjaro. This afternoon you will check in for your international departure flight.
