4 Day Kapama Karula Lodge Safari

The Kapama Karula Lodge is an exclusive lodge situated in the heart of the Kapama Private game reserve.

The individually designed suites offer a private plunge pool, his and her showers, outside showers and spacious lounge.

Departing from the OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal at 06:30, you will make your way into the Lowveld and onto the Kapama Game reserve on our group transfer.

On arrival at the exclusive lodge, you will enjoy a welcome drink and be guided around the lodge. There is time for you to check into your room before enjoying a light lunch, high tea and a guided open vehicle safari drive.

Kapama is world renowned for its up close and personal wildlife sightings including the Big 5.

During your afternoon sunset safari drive, your guide will stop at an intimate location for you to enjoy a beverage as the sun sets over the African bush.

Dinner is enjoyed at the Lodge, prepared by the high class chef. All drinks and local beverages are included on this package.

Retire for the night in your luxury exclusive air-conditioned room for the night.

Safaris are all about early morning wake up calls, as this is the time of the day when the animals are most active.

Your experienced guide and tracker will search for any fresh spoor (animal footprints) that were left during the night by the Nocturnal animals during the night, hoping to locate the feline members of the Big 5, Lion and Leopard.

Not only will you be tracking the cats, but also Elephant, Rhino and the African Buffalo during your safari drives in the Kapama Private game reserve.

On returning to the Lodge, a well-deserved breakfast is served before enjoying the heat of the day at the Lodge, in the comfort of your room, by the swimming pool and sipping on a cocktail at the Lodges well stocked Bar.

As the heat of the day reduces and the sun start to lower over the reserve, your guide will inform you on the departure time for your afternoon Sunset safari drive. During your drive your guide will find an ideal location for you to disembark from the safari vehicle and enjoy a sun downer drink as the African sun sets behind the Drakensberg Mountains.

Dinner is once again served in the lodges main dining area.

Your third day on safari is enjoyed by experiencing guided morning and afternoon safari drives, relaxing by your private plunge pool or reading a book in your suites lounge.

The Kapama Private Game reserve also offers optional activities such as a Day Spa and guided tours of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species centre. You more than welcome to inform the Lodge managed if you would like to join in on one of these experiences during your stay. Please note that all optional activities are for own account.

All meals and beverages are included in the package to the Karula Lodge, meaning that you will not go hungry or thirsty during your safari experience.

A final morning safari drive is enjoyed by all, as you reflect on your safari experience at one of South Africa’s most exclusive lodges.

After breakfast you can check out of your room, before being collected for your return group transfer to the OR Tambo Airport.

Arriving back in Johannesburg at the OR Tambo Airport Bus terminal between 17:30 – 18:00. If you are planning on traveling further, we do suggest reserving a domestic flight that departs no earlier than 19:30 and an International Flight that departs no earlier than 21:00
