Once you arrive at the International Airport, a CANATUR representative will be waiting for you there to give you directions and identify you with a postcard that should be stuck in a visible place, so that it will be easier for us to identify you when you get out. This person will give you indications to pass through the immigration areas. Once you pass the immigration line, another of our representatives will help you in the customs area and baggage belts. Once you have your luggage you will have to get out and walk along the sidewalk so that our representative will be able to locate you more easily. He/she will wear green trousers and orange shirt as uniform with the Swiss Travel logo and will also have a sign with your name or surname on it. Private Half Day Del Toro Waterfall Hiking Tour

According to your selected schedule, the tour transportation and naturalist guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of El Silencio Lodge to start the 30-minute scenic drive through the mountains, small villages with potato plantations, cabbage and pastures until you reach Catarata del Toro, located on a 250-acre private property that protects a primary rainforest. Once you arrive at the visitor center, you will have your first glimpse from the top of the impressive waterfall, which flows into a dormant volcanic crater. Throughout the challenging 30-minute hike, you will enjoy the sounds of tropical birds and howler monkeys as you hike the steep trail through the jungle where various species of trees, plants and colorful flowers can be seen. The guide will be always attentive to show you some wild animals camouflaged in the thickness of the forest such as armadillos, blue morpho butterflies and many birds, including the fast and flashy hummingbirds.

The first 15 minutes of the trail are on uneven terrain with some lookouts that are strategically placed on the trail to give you time to rest and enjoy the breathtaking views while taking some pictures of the waterfall at different angles. Then, the descent becomes more challenging. There are 375 steps to reach the bottom of the waterfall, most of which are made of sturdy concrete to prevent slipping. Once down, you will be rewarded with a panoramic close-up view of the impressive 90-meter drop waterfall, which plunges into an extinct volcanic crater.

The mossy green cliffs surrounding the natural environment are out of this world. The unique rock formations lining the walls are even more remarkable from this vantage point. The vivid red and orange stripes caused by ancient lava flows and the strange chemical composition of the water, remnants of the extremely acidic crater, will give you one of the most amazing encounters with nature.

This morning you will travel through the cloud forest until you reach Arenal, it is about a 2 hour trip in which you will enjoy beautiful views. After checking in at the selected hotel, we will go on the hanging bridges tour in the afternoon.

Arenal Hanging Bridges Natural History Tour 

The Arenal Hanging Bridges tour is an eco-tourism attraction within a 618-acre reserve of primary forest.

Located at only 25 minutes from most of the hotels in Arenal, this is a perfect place to discover the wonderful secrets of the forest; the density of its biodiversity makes this wildlife sanctuary a special place to admire the species among the vibrant primary rainforest canopy on trails and hanging bridges varying in length and height.

On this two-mile walk, an expert naturalist guide will be by your side, sharing important information regarding the natural history of this place, which will open the door to a fascinating and colorful tropical rainforest world.

There are 16 bridges; 10 of them are non-suspension (rigid bridges) and 6 of them are suspension bridges.

Distances vary between 8 to 98 length and getting till 60 meters height, providing a unique point of view to admire the beauty of Costa Rica´s Jungle in all its levels on a safety way, thanks to its high quality structures.

During the two and half hour walk, you will see birds, mammals, reptiles, different types of plants and trees, combined with the impressive views of both Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.

We will pick you up today at Amor Arenal, 30 mina later, you will be boarding your charter flight to Palmar Sur where one of our representatives will be waiting to take you to Kura, a Lovely Boutique Hotel in the mountain.

Day at leisure

Today is at your leisure to enjoy the facilities of the hotel or if you prefer to go out and explore the surroundings.

Today's transfer is about 1 hour and a half, we will drive you to the famous Manuel Antonio Area where you will spend the last nights of your lovely trip.

Time to say good bye, we will transfer ou to Juan Santamaria Airport, your international flight will be waiting for you. This is a 3.5 hours trip, remember that you must be at the airport 3 horas prior to the flight so the pick up time must be 6 hours prior to the flight at least. We do recommend to book an afternoon flight.
