Day notes

Upon your arrival into Rwanda's Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a dmAFRICA representative.  Here you will be assisted with immigration, baggage collection and customs procedures after which you will be escorted to your waiting private transfer vehicle and driver. (NOTE: As in all airports in the world, at times of heightened security, including visits by Heads of State etc., our Fast Track intentions may be adapted to suit the situation of the day).

You will then be transferred to The Retreat, approximately 15 minutes, where accommodation is in 2 superior king suites on a dinner, room & breakfast basis.

Day notes

After breakfast you will be transferred back to Kigali International Airport for your helicopter transfer, in an Agusta 119, 4-seater aircraft with 2 pilots, to Magashi Camp in Akagera National Park (NOTE: maximum total payload - passenger weights and luggage combined - is 380kgs and luggage must be in soft sided bags only) .  The flight will take approximately 20 minutes and you will be met on arrival by a guide from Magashi Camp who will drive you the short, 5 minutes to camp.

Shared activities commence in the afternoon, returning to camp by dusk, where accommodation is in 2 tented rooms on a full board basis.

Day notes

Today you will be transferred by Agusta 119, 4-seater helicopter with 2 pilots to One & Only Nyungwe House, a flight duration of approximately 30 minutes (NOTE: maximum total payload - passenger weights and luggage combined - is 380kgs and luggage must be in soft sided bags only) .  Met at the heli pad you will then walk or take a golf cart to the lodge, approximately 5 minutes.

The rest of the day is at leisure, enjoying the property, your surroundings and some of the activities on offer.  Accommodation is at One & Only Nyungwe House in 2 rooms on a full board basis.

Day notes

After breakfast, you will fly by helicopter, again in Agusta 119, 4-seater with 2 pilots, to Musanze, a flight of approximately 60 minutes (NOTE: maximum total payload - passenger weights and luggage combined - is 380kgs and luggage must be in soft sided bags only) .  A member of the Bisate Lodge team will meet you on arrival and transfer you to the lodge, a drive of approximately 25 minutes.

You will arrive in time for lunch and the afternoon is at leisure or you may wish to take advantage of some of the lodge activities. 

Accommodation at Bisate Lodge is in 2 forest villas on a full board basis.

Day notes

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for a briefing before you start your Gorilla trekking experience.  Once you track your family group, you will spend a very special hour in their company, watching as they feed, rest and play.

The afternoon is at leisure with optional tours available, to Iby'iwacu cultural village (extra charge of USD 20 per person applies, payable directly) or to Musanze caves (extra charge of USD 50 per person applies, payable directly).

Accommodation at Bisate Lodge is in 2 forest villas on a full board basis.

Day notes

After an early breakfast, you will be driven back to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, this time for your Golden Monkey tracking experience.

Returning to Bisate Lodge for lunch, you will then take a helicopter transfer, in Agusta 119, 4-seater with 2 pilots, back to Kigali International Airport, a flight of approximately 25 minutes (NOTE: maximum total payload - passenger weights and luggage combined - is 380kgs and luggage must be in soft sided bags only) .

You will be met on arrival and transferred to The Retreat where day rooms are booked for you.  Later, you will have a private transfer to return you to Kigali International Airport once more, where you will connect to your onward international arrangements at 20h15.
