Visit Bella Ciao
Bella Ciao is a community centre in Kawangware Slum that provides a safe space for vulnerable children. It is home to two programs: Real Hope and Joyful Hearts.
Real Hope (RHYCO) runs a drop-in centre for 128 children and a safe house for 40 children who need temporary shelter from abuse. The program provides nutritious meals, health care, mentorship, psychosocial support, and hygiene care; through sponsorship, they are able to go to school.
Joyful Hearts (JHC) is a community-based rehabilitation program for children with cerebral palsy. They focus on physiotherapy, feeding assistance, hygiene care, social interaction, and other developmental services. The program also works to raise awareness and reduce stigma around cerebral palsy in the community.

Afternoon: Visit the Limuru Bible Clubs
The Limuru Bible Clubs, launched in 2024, serve 140 children and their families every Saturday. These clubs provide spiritual growth, nutritious meals, arts and crafts, games, and homework support in a safe and nurturing environment.
A key focus is helping children and youth break free from addiction by equipping churches to address substance abuse and supporting families through this challenge. With mentorship and counselling, the program encourages kindness, compassion, and empathy, empowering children to make a positive impact in their communities.

The team will spend two days visiting the ZACTS projects run by International Needs Zambia.
Located in Solwezi, ZACTS School has experienced remarkable growth since its founding in 2012. What began with just 60 students has blossomed into an educational institution serving over 1,200 children today.
Beyond education, the school has created opportunities for vulnerable women in the community. These women receive training and employment in sustainable food production, including vegetable gardening, livestock raising, and fish farming.
This integrated approach serves multiple purposes: providing nutritious meals for students, strengthening the school's self-sufficiency, and empowering local women through practical skills training and economic independence.
