Day 1: Copacabana

On arrival in Rio you will be met by your private transfer which will take you to your hotel. 

With an oceanfront location, the Miramar by Windsor has reopened with 200 rooms, decorated in a contemporary style designed by architect Paola Ribeiro. As well as the standard mini-bar, cable TV and dock station, there are luxuries such as Nespresso coffee machine, pure cotton Trussardi bed sheets, L’Occitane amenities and butler service for all rooms. There is a rooftop fitness centre and swimming pool with fantastic views of Copacabana Beach, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. If they wish to, guests can also use the spa service at the Windsor Atlantica. At the Sá restaurant, located next to reception, breakfast is served buffet style. Private half day tour of Sugar Loaf Mountain
An iconic symbol of the city, Sugar Loaf Mountain is a huge granite slab at the entrance of Guanabara Bay. You will take the tour in two stages in glass cable-cars. The first cable-car takes you to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215m above sea level, before you continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain itself at 395m. From the top there are truly spectacular 360-degree views of the entire city, beaches and bay beneath.

Day 3: Copacabana

Private half day tour of Corcovado
Visit the Christ Statue, recently voted one of the seven modern wonders of the world, which sits 2,300m above sea level, atop Corcovado Hill. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you will arrive at the foot of the hill from where you take the small train ride which climbs this beautiful mountain. From the summit there is a stunning panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. There is also time for a drive along Rio’s famous beaches.

Day 4: Iguazu Falls

You will have a private transfer to take you to the airport for the flight on to Iguazu Falls and you will also be met on arrival to be escorted to the Belmond Cataratas Hotel for 2 nights in B&B basis. 

Located within the Iguaçu National Park, this lavish hotel overlooks the mighty falls and is surrounded by lush flora and fauna. Featuring classic Portuguese colonial style decor, the 195 elegant rooms boast colourful accents and dark-wood furnishings. There's a grill restaurant and a sleek Brazilian-international fusion restaurant with patio seating, plus a refined bar offering nightly live music. Day 5: Iguazu Falls

Private half day tour of the Argentine side of the falls
Cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge, heading towards the Iguazú National Park in Argentina. At the entrance, a small train takes visitors on a tour through the park, making 2 stops. Follow the pathways to the top of the waterfalls that provide spectacularly unique views of the ‘Cataratas’, amidst the abundant nature filled with orchids, colourful birds and other wildlife. The tour ends at the observatory on the edge of the largest waterfall in the park, ‘A Garganta do Diabo’ or ‘The Devil’s Throat’.
You will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the Brazilian side of the Falls from your hotel.

Day 6: State of Amazonas

You will again have a private transfer to and from the airport.

On arrival into Manaus you will be transferred by road and boat to the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge for 3 nights on full board basis with activities.

One of the best jungle lodges in the Amazon, nestled within a vast stretch of untouched rainforest, adjacent to the Anavilhanas Archipelago on Rio Negro. The greatest river archipelago in the world, the Estação Ecológica de Anavilhanas contains about 400 islands which extend for over 90 km of untouched native forest. It is a veritable maze of lakes, rivers and riverbanks, which are the home to a very rich plant and animal life.

Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is a small charming lodge with 16 simple yet comfortable rooms, adorned with local arts and crafts and equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, ensuite bathrooms and a private balcony with hammock.
At night the lodge is tastefully lit and has a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a small swimming pool with views of the stunning surrounding landscape and river. The main area of the lodge has an intimate bar, a TV with a selection of DVDs, books, pool table, and sundeck. Your guide will assist you in choosing a programme to suit your needs and fulfil your wish list. You can choose from a wide variety of activities and excursions, these may change depending on the time of year and the weather conditions.
Start your day with a magical sunrise contemplation. Leaving at dawn, you will be taken to the islands to watch the birds flying and the beauty of all the colours when the sun rises in the Amazon sky. Later take to the water in canoes for up to 2 people, while you watch the scenery changing as you paddle along waters and between trees. Listen to sounds of the jungle and observe the wonderful wildlife that inhabits the river banks. Have fun with Waimiri-Atroari’s and learn techniques to sharpen your aim and hit the targets. This is a wonderful introduction to indigenous traditions and way of life.
Led by experienced local guides, explore areas that are not affected by floods, the firm forests or dryland forests. During this tour you will learn about trees, fruits and wild fruits, survival strategies and medicinal herbs. Take to the canoes once again for a trip down the Rio Negro to the local Caboclo community. Get to know their lifestyles, traditions, agriculture and social structure. Take a tour of the Anavilhanas archipelago in search of Pink Dolphins. The countless canals, lakes and islands of this immense river archipelagos will be explored in search of Pink and Grey Dolphins.
Enjoy the amazing scenery and catch some fish during a spot of Piranha fishing. This fun activity is done in canoes along the igarapés. In the dry season, from September to December, water gets warmer and fish are more concentrated in the National Park, where fishing is not allowed. However, during this same period, it is possible to walk through the islands of the Anavilhanas Archipelago and to know closely the differences of fauna and flora of the firm forest and the forest of igapó, characteristics of the Amazon Forest. End your day with a unique experience of exploring the forest at night time. By star light you will explore the igapós in search of birds, sloths, snakes and alligators hidden in the sounds of darkness.

Day 9: Manaus

Today you will transfer back to Manaus to The Villa Amzonian for 1 night on B&B basis. 

Located in the historic centre of Manaus, just a few steps from the Amazon theatre this lovely hotel is set in a restored historic mansion. The 30 spacious rooms face an indoor garden and a natural stone pool and boast a modern and sophisticated design and boast a balcony. The Fitz Carraldo Bistro offers a contemporaneous menu, blending international classic dishes with the exotic Amazonian culinary. Other facilities include a fully equipped gym and an outdoor pool.

 

Day 10: Trancoso

Today you will have private transfers to and from the airport for your journey to Trancoso. 

Stay 4 nights at The Uxua Boutique Hotel on B&B basis.

The UXUA has only ten houses that blend perfectly with the historical centre of Trancoso, a small fishing village on the idyllic coast of southern Bahia. Four of these houses are located in the Quadrado Plaza and the other six houses are surrounded by a lush garden. All the houses have been restored and designed by designer Wilbert Das, in collaboration with local craftsmen, using traditional methods of construction, recycled materials, antiques and works of Brazilian art. Nine out of ten homes have full kitchens, private gardens, sitting areas inside and outside, outdoor toilets, king-size beds, wireless internet and satellite TV. Some houses have private pools, Jacuzzis and terraces.

 

Day 11: Trancoso

Days at leisure in Trancoso. 

The little town of Trancoso, in the south of Bahia, has captured the attention and stolen the hearts of many a traveller and it’s easy to see why! With beautiful beaches, charming Quadrado (Village Square) and its rich and historic culture. Trancoso sits on stunning UNESCO protected coastline and is a stunning place to relax and explore. The Quadrado is where things happen in the evening, it is the perfect setting for a drink and a romantic candlelit dinner at one of the open-air restaurants. Trancoso was founded by Jesuit missionaries in 1586 as one of the first settlements in Brazil and the layout of the square is still intact and gives testament to the Jesuit history. The weather here couldn’t be better, with sunny weather around the year and reasonable temperatures. Summer temperatures rarely pass the 28-30 degree and winter days are still nice with temperatures around 22-24 degree). Of course there are rainy days, but rains can be refreshing and the skys usually clear up fast
