Days 1 - 2: Chobe River Front

Our local agents will be waiting in Kasane around midday to greet you with a warm Botswana welcome. Your guide will help you settle in, make you feel at home, and walk you through what to expect on your safari adventure.

On your first afternoon, you’ll enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the Chobe River, departing from Kasane. A snack pack will be provided for you to enjoy as you take in the scenery and wildlife from the water.

After the cruise, we begin our journey from Kasane, driving at a game-viewing pace while keeping an eye out for wildlife and birdlife. We’ll spend the first two nights camping at a pristine bush campsite near the Chobe River, with game drives along the riverbanks and surrounding floodplains.

As the sun sets, the magic of mobile camping comes to life. Enjoy sundowners around the campfire, followed by a starlit dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep, drifting off to the sounds of the African bush.

Days 3 - 5: Savuti - Chobe National Park

We continue our journey south deeper into Chobe National Park and make our way to the legendary Savute region, where we will spend the next three nights camping at a remote and pristine bush campsite. Over these days, you’ll explore Savute’s strikingly beautiful yet rugged landscape on a series of game drives.

Savute is a place of dramatic contrasts and constant transformation. Its character shifts entirely depending on the flow—or the complete absence—of water from the historic Savute Channel. After nearly three decades of dryness, water unexpectedly reached the Savute Marsh again in 2010, reshaping the ecosystem and the behaviour of the wildlife. During the long dry spell, Savute’s lions became famously skilled at hunting elephants at isolated waterholes—an extraordinary adaptation rarely seen elsewhere. The return of flowing water altered these dynamics once more, creating a landscape full of unpredictability and intrigue.

Today, the mystery of Savute continues. Whether the channel is flowing or dry, this region offers some of the most intense and captivating wildlife encounters in Botswana. The best way to understand its ever-changing story is to experience it firsthand—join us in Savute and witness the next chapter unfold before your eyes.

Days 6 - 8: Khwai Community Area

After an early breakfast, we break camp and begin our journey toward the Khwai region, travelling through scenic wilderness areas and stopping for a relaxed bush picnic lunch along the way. The Khwai River marks the natural boundary between Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Community Concession, creating a rich mosaic of habitats that attract an impressive variety of wildlife.

For the next three nights, we settle into a comfortable serviced campsite in the Khwai area. From here, you’ll explore the lush Khwai floodplains on game drives, where open grasslands, winding water channels, and shady woodlands offer exceptional opportunities to view predators, large herds of elephants, and an abundance of birdlife.

A highlight of your time in Khwai will be a peaceful 2½-hour mokoro excursion. Gliding quietly through serene channels and hidden lagoons in a traditional dug-out canoe allows you to experience the landscape from an entirely different perspective. Your mokoro guide will help you spot smaller creatures, aquatic life, and beautiful water lilies while you soak in the tranquillity of this iconic Okavango environment.

Over these days, you’ll enjoy a slower, more intimate pace of exploration as you discover the magic and diversity that make Khwai one of Botswana’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.

Days 9 - 10: Moremi Game Reserve

For the final two nights of your mobile safari, we settle into a serviced campsite in the iconic Xakanaxa / Third Bridge area. This region lies at the heart of Moremi Game Reserve and offers some of the most diverse and wildlife-rich habitats in the entire Okavango Delta.

Over the next two days, we explore the surrounding wilderness on immersive game drives. The landscape here is a spectacular blend of mopane forests, sweeping floodplains, winding channels, and permanent lagoons—an ever-changing mosaic that supports an abundance of wildlife. Known for its healthy populations of predators, elephants, plains game, and prolific birdlife, Xakanaxa is a true highlight for nature enthusiasts.

Moremi Game Reserve protects roughly one-third of the vast Okavango Delta, covering around 5,000 km² (1,930 square miles). This unique ecosystem—one of the world’s largest inland deltas—provides a sanctuary for an extraordinary concentration of species, all thriving within its complex network of waterways and islands.

Your time in Xakanaxa and Third Bridge offers a fitting finale to your safari: dramatic scenery, exceptional wildlife encounters, and the chance to absorb the magic of the Okavango Delta before your journey continues.

Day 11: End of Itinerary

After breakfast and a final short game drive, your guide will take you to a bush airstrip for a scenic light aircraft flight over the Okavango Delta and Chief’s Island, offering breathtaking aerial views of this unique ecosystem. You will arrive in Maun around noon, perfectly timed for onward flights to Johannesburg.
