Amboseli National Park

Day notes

Day 3 & 4. Tsavo West - Amboseli National Park (about 3 hours)

After breakfast check out and drive to Amboseli National Park arrive for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. This Park is famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by the Mt. Kilimanjaro.

It offers an interesting contrast with its dry and dusty appearance, which can be attributed to the volcanic ash that came
out of Mt Kilimanjaro when it last erupted. In spite of the appearance, there is a continuous supply of water that gets filtered through volcanic rocks from Kilimanjaro melted snow.

These streams flow underground, creating lush green areas, and converge at two clear water springs in the park.

Day 4. Full day safari Amboseli NP

You will spend the day in the park on morning and afternoon game viewing drives.

Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, wild
dog among others.

There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle and pygmy
falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants.
The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in all of Kenya.
Visitors can also enjoy excellent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Meru.

Day 6 - 7

Naivasha

Day notes

Day 6 & 7Mount Kenya region - Lake Naivasha (about 2 hours)

After breakfast, depart to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Arrive in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill. Lake Nakuru is among Kenya’s finest National Parks.

Flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of forest and at least one waterfall, the park is pretty year-round. Look past the
hordes of baboons and you can see hippos, or perhaps a lucky leopard or two.

There are also about 50 rare tree-climbing lions in the park, spotted several times per week. The usual zebras, buffaloes
and Rothschild giraffes seal the deal.
Flamingo Hill is a favorite lion-spotting point. It's here that you should look up, not down as you are used to in other parks – lionesses love to sleep in these trees.

The caves beneath Lion Hill in the park's northeast once served as a  lion cub nursery. The lake's abundance of algae attracts the vast quantity of flamingos that famously line the shore.

Day 7. Crescent Island

After breakfast drive to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary.

Enjoy an afternoon walk on Crescent Island, a crescent-shaped peninsula where part of the shooting of the movie “Out of Africa”was shot.
On the island, you will enjoy an unforgettable safari in the heart of this enchanting landscape. The island is a sanctuary for many species of birds, including heron, ibis or weaver.

This is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is the northern extension to the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest.

Arrive and check-in at the camp in time for lunch.
Depart later for an evening game viewing drive in the Reserve which is a spectacular place of breathtaking sceneries, never-ending plains and the most abundant variety of wildlife remaining anywhere in the world.

The landscape is made up of rolling savannahs dotted with patchy shrubs and bush thickets.
