The ferry departs from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront at 09:00, with the entire experience lasting about 3.5 hours. The ferry ride offers stunning views of Cape Town and Table Bay, which children and adults alike will enjoy. Upon arrival at Murray’s Bay Harbour, you’ll board buses for a guided tour of the island. Learn about its remarkable history, including stops at the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, and the Maximum Security Prison, where Nelson Mandela was held. You will gain insight into South Africa’s journey to freedom in an engaging and educational way.

After returning to the mainland, it’s time for lunch (Own account) and explore Cape Town City on foot. This walking tour is designed to capture the city’s vibrant culture and is perfect for families with curious minds. Stroll through the streets and enjoy learning about Cape Town’s diverse heritage, colorful communities, and culinary delights. 

Next, head to Table Mountain (weather permitting) for breathtaking panoramic views of the city, perfect for family photos and some fun exploration. After descending, embark on a scenic drive through the city’s historic landmarks, where you’ll hear fascinating stories about Cape Town’s evolution. Discover how the ocean once reached the Castle of Good Hope, and imagine the city as it was in the past.

End your day in the vibrant Bo-Kaap, with its bright, colorful houses and rich cultural history—a treat for the whole family. 

Explore Hermanus
Pick-up Time: 09:00

Today we make our way to Hermanus, a town famous for its stunning coastal scenery and world-class whale watching. Upon arrival, embark on a whale-watching boat trip (seasonal: June to November) for an up-close encounter with southern right whales, humpback whales, and other marine life.

After the boat trip you have time to visit the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. Located at the V&A Waterfront, it's one of the largest contemporary art museums in Africa, showcasing a wide range of contemporary African art. It's open on Saturdays until 6:00 PM.

Explore Cape Point Nature Reserve

Make your last day in Cape Town an unforgettable family adventure! After breakfast and check-out, begin with a scenic drive along Cape Town's stunning Atlantic Seaboard. Pass by Sea Point, Bantry Bay, and Clifton, and enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline. Spot the ghostly shipwrecks at Bakoven and Llandudno—sure to spark the imaginations of young adventurers. Then, experience the thrill of navigating Chapman’s Peak Drive, with its 114 curves and dramatic cliffs offering spectacular views, perfect for family photos.

Next, head to the iconic Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park. This nature reserve is a paradise for families who love wildlife and outdoor exploration. Keep an eye out for ostriches, baboons, and unique plants as you walk along the trails. A highlight for the whole family is climbing to the Cape Point Lighthouse for panoramic views of False Bay—an excellent spot for teaching kids about geography while marveling at the scenery.

Before wrapping up your day, stop at the charming Boulders Beach. Here, your family can meet the resident African penguins in their natural habitat. Kids will love watching these adorable creatures waddle along the sandy beach, and it’s a wonderful way to end your trip on a high note.
