Day 1: Windhoek

You will arrive at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport where you will be met by our car hire representative.

After you have checked through passport control, picked up your luggage and passed through customs, you will exit through automated, part glass part metal doors and enter into the arrivals hall. Please be on the lookout for your name which will be printed/written on the “Welcome Sheet” which the driver will hold in his hands.

There is a possibility that he is also collecting other guests, who have arrived on the same flight and may take a little longer to exist, please be patient - You are on holiday!

They will then transfer you to your B&B.

You have the day at leisure in Windhoek, we can arrange guided sightseeing if required.

Today you will be collected from the B&B at 08H00 and taken to the vehicle hire depot for vehicle hand over.

Day 3: Kalahari Namibia

Today you will head to Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge, is situated on a 4 000 ha private game reserve, 200 km south of Namibia's capital city of Windhoek, near the small town of Kalkrand.

From Windhoek, drive 190 km south on the B1 towards Mariental. The entrance to Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is 8 km south of Kalkrand - and is clearly marked from the road.

Day 5: Quiver Tree Forest

The Quivertree Forest, with its curious and picturesque trees, can be viewed on the Farm Gariganus, about 13 km north-east from Keetmanshoop.

On the farm, visitors can explore the ancient and famous Quivertree Forest, and the Giants Playground.

The entrance fee is around N$ 80.00 per person and N$ 20.00 per vehicle.

Cheetahs are fed at 17H00.

The Quiver Tree Forest Rest Camp is Located 14 km north-east of Keetmanshoop on the road M29. The turning is located just north of Keetmanshoop from the B1 road.

Today you will head to the Fish River Canyon.

The thermal hot springs of Ai-Ais lie in the southern part of the Fish River nature conservation area. It is best accessed via the B1. Near Grünau turn off on to the C10. Ai-Ais lies at the end of this gravel road (73 kilometers).

Today you will head into the Namib Desert.

You will be staying inside the park, so convenient for access to the dunes for sunrise and sunset.

During your stay we recommend visiting the dunes at Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon.

Hot air ballooning and scenic flights can also be organised!

Sossus Dune Lodge is situated south of Sesriem in the Namib Naukluft Park. Head south from the main entrance to Sesriem Canyon and drive around the hill to the lodge. This is the C19 Road.

Day 13: Swakopmund

You will leave the Namib Desert today and head west towards the coast.

We recommend stopping at the small trading post of Solitaire and sampling their great apple pie and other pastries.

The scenery around the Tropic of Capricorn, Kuiseb and Gaub Passes is very scenic so good for photographs, and also keep you eyes open for Hartmanns Mountain Zebra exiting the Passes. Meerkats can also be seen alongside the road.

On entering Walvis Bay you could visit the flamingos in the Walvis Bay Lagoon before continuing to Swakopmund.

On entering Swakopmund get onto the main road Sam Nujoma Avenue and follow it towards the sea. At the T-junction with Strand Street South turn left, the Beach Hotel is on the left as you pass the aquarium.

Day 15: Brandberg

From Swakopmund you will head north up the Barren Skeleton Coast.

You could detour north and visit the Cape Cross seal colony if you have not already visited from Swakopmund.

You will travel to Twyfelfontein via Brandberg Mountain which is Namibia's highest mountain. You can stop and hike up to the White Lady rock Painting (this is roughly a 2 hour detour).

A visit to the Twyfelfontein Rock engravings is highly recommended.

Other attractions in the area include the Petrified Forest, Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain (best viewed as the sun begins to set).

The Living Museum of the Damara is well worth a visit.

Most lodges in the area offer a desert adapted game drive.

Today you will head to Rustig Toko Lodge, which is situated on 6 000 ha of private farm land.

It is an ideal base for tours to the Etosha National Park, the Epupa Falls on the Kunene River and to visit one of the indigenous peoples of Namibia, the Himba.

Rustig Toko Lodge is situated 22 km north east of Kamanjab on the D2695. Take the C35 north of Kamanjab to Ruacana, after 8 km turn right onto D2763, after 13 km take the D2695 to the farm.

Today you will head to Emanya@Etosha Game Lodge, situated only 20 min drive from from the von Lindequist Gate to Etosha National Park.

Exit the Etosha National Park at Namutoni through the von Lindequist Gate. for 6 km along this road turn south on to D3028, you should immediately see the entrace to Emanya @ Etosha and the lodge is about 2 km along their 'driveway' from here.

Next Stop Roy's Rest Camp, which is situated 55 km north of Grootfontein. This makes it a convenient stopover between Windhoek, central Namibia, Rundu and the Zambezi Region.

Head north east on the B8 from Grootfontein. The turning for Roy's Camp is on the left just past the right hand turn for Tsumkwe. The camp is about 1km from the road, and clearly signed.

Day 23: Divundu

Ngepi Camp is a unique and beautiful eco-lodge set amongst the flooded plains and swampy backwaters of the upper reaches of the Okavango Delta Panhandle in Namibia.

It nestles between Mahango National Park,, a few kilometres to the south and Bwabwata National Park opposite across the river.

The region is teeming with mammals large and small and stunning colourful birds.

Ngepi Camp is located 14km from Divundu, which is a small settlement on the Situated on the B8 road between Rundu (200 km) and Katima Mulilo (320 km). At the T-junction in Divundu you will see signs for Ngepi Camp as well as for Popa Falls and Mahango Park which are in the same direction. Turn onto the D3403 road and drive 10 km until you see the sign for Ngepi Camp on the left hand side, from where it is a further 4 km.

Camp Kwando is set where the Kwando and Linyati meet.

A specially equipped 10 seater open Landrover allows for comfortable game drives in the neighbouring parks, under the protection of its canvas roof.

Games drives generally leave early morning and late afternoon when the game viewing is best.

Boat trips on the Kwando River

As for the game drives, these trips also leave early morning and late afternoon, when the game viewing and the light for photographs is at its best.

A wide variety of game can be found in and around the Kwando River making this a great location for a game cruise.

Traditional Village Visit

Just next door to Camp Kwando is the village where the majority of the lodge staff come from. The villagers have created a traditional village where they will p[resent to you various fishing and hunting techniques as well as the traditions on their everyday lives. Their medicine man will show different dances to protect from various illnesses.

Mokoro Excursion

The mokoro or dugout canoe is the most traditional method of travel on the River. You will be taken through the backwaters, through narrow channels to enjoy the dense vegetation and smaller creatures of the area. The mokoro will end and you will have refreshments and a guided walk back to the camp.

The lodge provides boat, guide and tackle for up to 4 people to try their hand at catching Tiger Fish.

Turn south on from the Trans Caprivi Highway (B8) onto the C49 at Kongola. 25 km down this road (the C49) you will encounter a signpost to Camp Kwando, follow this sign for 3 km and you will reach Camp Kwando.

You will now cross into Botswana where you will spend the next days at Chobe Safari Lodge on the banks of the Chobe River.

Head back to the main B8 road and turn right towards Katima Mulilo

Once at Katima we suggest you stock up on fuel and cash.

At Katima follow the B8 to Ngoma Bridge and cross the Botswana Border there.

You will follow this road (A33) All the way to Kasane.

Turn left to the riverfront and then bear right on Presidents Avenue/

The Garden Lodge will be on your left hand side. You will first past Chobe Marina Lodge and Spar Supermarket, Waterlily Lodge. If you reach The Garden Lodge you have gone too far!

Your vehicle will be collected from Water Lily Lodge at 09H00 to avoid a complicated border crossing.

You will then be transferred to Amadeus Garden, at 10H05; form here you can visit the Victoria Falls on foot.
