Begin with a visit to Table Mountain, or to Signal Hill should the weather be less forgiving, and take in sweeping views over the city, harbour and Atlantic coastline.
Continue into the historic heart of Cape Town as your guide shares the city’s layered story, with the option to visit a museum for a more in-depth look at its past.
Enjoy a leisurely walk through the Company’s Garden, the city’s original vegetable garden, now a leafy oasis where pigeons, geese and squirrels go about their day.
Visit the vibrant Bo-Kaap, the Cape Malay Quarter, with its cobbled streets, brightly painted houses and enduring cultural heritage.
Stroll through the magnificent Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, pausing at highlights such as the Boomslang Tree Canopy Walk and the Conservatory. Enjoy a light lunch (own account) at the popular tea room showcasing local flavours, or save your appetite for a relaxed meal among the vines in Constantia.
Discover the Constantia Winelands, visiting one or two handpicked estates in this historic valley. You may wish to explore the cellars and heritage of Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine estate, or sample fine wines and views at one of the more contemporary properties, such as Steenberg or Beau Constantia.
As the day winds down, we may return via the scenic coastal road along Victoria Road through Camps Bay. With luck and good timing, you will be treated to a classic Cape Town sunset – a fitting finale to a refined and memorable day in the Mother City.

> Follow the Atlantic Seaboard on a leisurely scenic drive past Clifton and Camps Bay, where pristine beaches meet the deep blue Atlantic and the Twelve Apostles mountain range rises steeply behind.
> Continue along the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive, with plenty of stops for memorable photographs, before entering the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Keep watch for small antelope, eland, Cape mountain zebra, abundant birdlife and the ever-mischievous Chacma baboons.
> At Cape Point, either ride the funicular (included) or take the gently graded footpath – around 12 minutes – up to the historic lighthouse, where expansive views unfold over False Bay, the Cape of Good Hope and the Atlantic Ocean.
> Visit Boulders Beach, home to the indigenous and critically endangered African penguin, and enjoy time to observe these charming birds in their natural habitat.
> Return to Cape Town via the naval town of Simon’s Town, then either cross the Ou Kaapse Weg mountain pass or follow the coastal road through Kalk Bay, with time for a stroll through this characterful, bohemian fishing village.

Travel inland on the N1 highway via Route 62, considered the longest wine route in the world and we will definitely sample some of its vineyards along the way. It’s often said that South Africa has one of the most varied landscapes of any country, and there’s nowhere better to see this than on the drive from green, lush Cape Town to the semi-arid desert-like Klein Karoo.
In a secluded valley, we’ll discover Calitzdorp, South Africa’s port wine capital where we will enjoy lunch (own account). Port can be a bit of an acquired taste due to its strength and sweetness, but that’s a journey we are happy to help you start. In the late afternoon, we make our way into Oudtshoorn South Africa's ostrich Capital
Relax and enjoy the friendly Klein Karoo hospitality, with dinner at your country lodge.
This morning we have the option to wake really early to go meet the cute Meerkats of the Karoo (weather permitting), just as they awake and come out of their burrows.
Enjoy a country breakfast at the hotel, before we can make our way to a 20 million year old natural treasure at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains, the Cango Caves. Descend the 200 steps of Jacob’s Ladder into the Great Hall and continue into King Solomon’s Mine. Leaving this subterranean wonderland, we head back towards Oudtshoorn, where we take the opportunity to explore this one of a kind karoo town.
We then head through the Langeberg and onto Jeffreys Bay, the surfing mecca of South Africa.
Enjoy a relaxing day in this laidback town, taking long walks on the beach, watching the surfing action on the point, exploring the many factory shops, etc.
Enjoy a morning walk on the beach, before we head to your overnight safari at Kariega Private Game Reserve where we will arrive just in time for lunch.
Once checked into your luxury room its time to enjoy your late afternoon game drive in this lush and well stocked Big 5 reserve! Dinner is served in the boma (weather permitting) or lodge restaurant and lounge area. Retire to your room after a jam packed day of discovery to unwind in the african bush and listen for the calls of the wild.
The general daily program at all game lodges offers time to really unwind and relax in luxury and comfort while still offering the excitement of being deep in the bush surrounded by game.
The general activities run along the following lines:
An early morning wake up call before dawn, a quick cup of coffee and some fruit or a biscuit followed by a 3 hour game drive where you have the chance to spot not only the Big 5, but also a wide variety of other game species.
You will then return to the lodge for an awesome breakfast and then have time to relax. Enjoy the sun at the pools edge, sleep in comfort of your luxury room, or on a hammock overlooking the bushveld
You also have the option of a bush walk with a qualified game ranger, a highly recommended activity. The times of these walks will differ depending on the time of the year and the heat of the day. Will be arranged locally in consultation with your ranger(s)

After your morning game drive, we head back down the N2 and can stop in at Port Elizabeth, if you wish.
Arriving in the Tsitsikamma region, tuck into lunch (own account) and enjoy a one-hour walk to the suspension bridge overlooking Storms River Mouth.
"Plett" as the locals call this popular holiday town, is known as playground for the rich and famous and offers many optional activities from which to choose.

Depart to Wilderness where you can enjoy a kayak (own account) on the Touws River. Surrounded by mountains, ocean, lakes and lagoons Wilderness makes for a tranquil and splendid destination. Enjoy the stunning and unspoilt scenery at Dolphin Point and Map of Africa look out points (weather permitting).
A short visit to the historical harbour town of Mossel Bay which was the first place that Europeans landed on South African soil. Visit the Dias Museum Complex which is made up of several different museums, among them the Shell and Maritime Museums.
Lunch will be enjoyed (own account) at The Point before we make our way to the seaside village of Arniston on the Cape South Coast, we will travel along the N2 passing through Swellendam and then turn due south for the coastline again.
Early evening arrival in the coastal town of Arniston. Check into your accommodation and enjoy a possible traditional Cape dinner in the small neighbouring fishing village of Kassiesbaai.
The Arniston harbour is where you can watch the fishing boats come in is located right in front of the hotel. Next to the harbour you will find the historical fishing village of Kassiesbaai, which welcomes strollers and photographers.
We visit the rugged, windswept beauty of the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. A place where the warm Indian Ocean meets the cool Atlantic, the Cape of Storms has caused many an ancient mariner to brave its waters and wreck their ships in the name of exploration and adventure.
The Bredasdorp Shipwreck Museum is well worth a visit to read up on the rich local Maritime history.
After a leisurely morning on the beach, we visit the scenic coastal town of Hermanus, renowned for its whale watching, a place where Southern Right whales return annually during the winter and early spring months (July to November).
The Hemel-en-Aarde wine valley produces some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in South Africa, we will definitely enjoy some of their wines.
Continuing inland, we enter the Franschhoek Valley over the scenic mountain pass and onto your country hotel in the valley.
Enjoy a morning stroll to the Waenhuiskrans, the other name for the town and that of a cave only accessible on the low tide which asccording to local legend is large enough to store an oxwagon. A little further along the white sandy beach is the point where you can view ancient fish traps used the the bushmen for hundreds of years.
The combination of shallow, clear, warm water and numerous fantastic vantage points makes Arniston one of the best land-based whale-watching destinations in the world. You may very well see a Southern Right Whale and her calf bask and frolic in the crystalline turquoise waters of the Mozambique current mere metres from the coastline.
