Day 1: Arrival in Hoedspruit and Transfer to the Lodge
Arrive at Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit, after your journey from home. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs, you’ll be met by a local driver for a short transfer to a charming lodge within the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Nestled in the heart of natural bushveld, the lodge offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by scenic landscapes.
Take some time to settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing lunch while soaking in the views of the surrounding wilderness. Hoedspruit, often called the “Safari Capital of South Africa,” lies in the heart of the Greater Kruger Area in Limpopo province, an area renowned for its abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
In the late afternoon, embark on your first sundowner drive through the African bushveld. This gentle introduction to the region allows you to unwind after your travels, breathe in the fresh evening air, and spot your first wildlife sightings against the golden hues of the setting sun.

Day 2: Wildlife Exploration and Evening Safari
After breakfast, spend your first full day immersed in the African bush. Begin with a visit to a nearby watering hole, a tranquil spot where you can observe the rhythm of life in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Keep your camera or binoculars ready as animals come to drink — you might spot warthogs trotting along the water’s edge, graceful giraffes bending down to sip, or herds of zebra and antelope moving through the heat haze.
The estate is home to a rich variety of wildlife. While daytime walks are safe, always remain cautious after dark, as nocturnal predators such as hyenas and leopards may roam the area.
In the late afternoon, embark on a sundowner and night drive in a neighbouring private game reserve. As the sun sets over the horizon, enjoy the stunning landscape and watch the bush come alive with evening activity. This is a prime opportunity to spot the Big Five and other nocturnal wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 3: Kruger National Park Adventure
Start the day early with an exciting journey to the world-renowned Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest and most iconic wildlife reserves, covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres of diverse wilderness.
Travel in a private vehicle, giving you the flexibility to pause whenever wildlife or scenic landscapes capture your attention. Enjoy a brunch stop at a local picnic spot, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the savannah.
After brunch, visit Nwanitsi Viewpoint and Bird Hide, a prime location for observing a wide variety of wildlife and birds. Take in the panoramic views and appreciate the abundance of life that thrives in this remarkable ecosystem.
Spend the day exploring the park, spotting everything from giraffes and impalas to more elusive animals in their natural habitat. The private vehicle ensures you can move at your own pace, maximizing your opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

Take your time observing the wildlife and landscapes around the lodge. Stroll through the estate, listen to the sounds of the bush, and spot animals moving through their natural habitat. This is an ideal opportunity for photography, birdwatching, or simply soaking in the peace of the wilderness.
The lodge provides a range of activities and comfortable spots to unwind, whether enjoying a quiet morning with coffee overlooking the bush, taking a guided walk around the estate, or relaxing by the pool. Day 5: Blyde River Canyon Boat Safari and Arrival in Timbavati
Start the day with a scenic boat safari on the Blyde River Canyon Dam. Towering mountains rise up to 1,947 metres, making this one of the highest peaks in the Northern Drakensberg, and the views across the canyon and dam are breathtaking.
Keep your eyes peeled for hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the canyon. The serene waters and impressive cliffs make for a memorable wildlife and nature experience.
By mid-afternoon, transfer to Bateleur Safari Camp, your home for the next four nights. Located in the Timbavati Game Reserve, which borders Kruger National Park, the camp offers a true sense of wilderness, with animals moving freely across the bush.
The camp is beautifully situated on a seasonal riverbed, with an expansive veranda perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.
