13-Day Photographic Treasures of Namibia

• On arrival at the Windhoek International Airport, a representative from the transfer company will meet you and transfer you to their depot in Windhoek where the vehicle handover will take place 
• Shortly after you have finalized all rental procedures, a meet & greet representative will meet with you to answer any questions you might have as well as go through your route with you and make sure that you are ready for your self-drive adventure 
• Once all the formalities are done, you set off on the open road travelling to the Kalahari Desert where you spend your first night in Namibia 
• Optional extra activities are available at the lodge; Sundowner drives, Bushmen experiences, Horse Riding to name just a few

• Depart from the Kalahari Desert and travel towards Keetmanshoop, where you'll spend the night at the charming Quiver Tree Forest Rest Camp.
• After settling in, you can explore the unique Quiver Tree Forest either this afternoon or later in the evening. Capture the stunning landscape with a night photoshoot, as the eerie quiver trees, illuminated by the stars, create an unforgettable atmosphere.
• It's a perfect opportunity to experience the magic of this ancient forest under the African night sky.

• On your last morning in Keetmanshoop, enjoy the peaceful surroundings before departing for Lüderitz.
• En route, pass through Aus, where, if you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the famous desert feral horses.
• Continue your drive to Lüderitz, where you'll spend the next few days.
• A full day is set aside to explore this historic town, including a self-drive visit to the fascinating Kolmanskop Ghost Town, offering a glimpse into Namibia’s rich history.

• Wake up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
• After breakfast, prepare for departure to your next destination, Sossusvlei where you can spend the afternoon at your own leisure, exploring the area or relaxing at the lodge 
• The next day, a full day is set aside, embark on a self-drive excursion to explore the highlights of Sossusvlei, including the iconic sights such as Dead Vlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy 
• After a full day of exploration, continue your adventure with optional extra activities like a hot air balloon flight or a nature walk immersing yourself in the unique desert landscape.

• After breakfast, depart from Sossusvlei and take the scenic drive to Walvis Bay, where you’ll spend the next few nights at a hotel offering stunning views over the lagoon, perfect for capturing photographs of the flamingos that frequent the area.
• You’ll have a full day to explore the many adventurous activities Walvis Bay has to offer. Opt for a Dolphin & Seal Boat Cruise to encounter playful dolphins and seals or try Kayaking with seals for a more intimate wildlife experience. Alternatively, embark on a thrilling 4x4 Sandwich Harbour excursion, where you’ll explore the spectacular dunes meeting the Atlantic Ocean. 

*Approximate travel time - 4-5 hours*

• After a relaxed breakfast, continue your journey, traveling via Swakopmund and then inland to Spitzkoppe for the evening.
• If you prefer, you can detour through Henties Bay and head on to Cape Cross to view the largest seal colony in Southern Africa, before making your way inland to Spitzkoppe.
• Once you arrive, the afternoon is set aside for exploring the breathtaking Spitzkoppe area, known for its stunning granite peaks and desert landscapes.
• Spend some time taking pictures of the incredible Spitzkoppe Mountain and landscape of the area including the Rock Arch and surrounds.
• Enjoy one of the best sunsets in Namibia, where the changing light creates a dramatic and unforgettable scene.

*Approximate travel time - 3 hours*

• Today, travel to Etosha National Park, where you'll immerse yourself in incredible wildlife sightings.
• Once at the lodge, located inside the park, you'll have two full days to explore.
• Enjoy self-drive game drives at your own pace or opt for guided drives with the lodge (optional extra) to maximize your wildlife experience.
• The lodge's location offers the added bonus of a busy floodlit waterhole, perfect for "lazy" game viewing, where you can observe a variety of animals up close, especially in the early morning or evening hours.

*Approximate travel time - 3-4 hours*

• This marks the last day of your trip.
• After breakfast, depart from Etosha and travel back to Windhoek, where you will drop off your rental vehicle. From there, you’ll be transferred to the airport in time for your departure flight.
• As you reflect on your adventure through Namibia’s stunning landscapes and incredible wildlife, you’ll take with you lasting memories of an unforgettable journey.
