You'll be met at Cape Town International airport and transferred to Four Rosmead, a boutique hotel on the slopes of Table Mountain, with panoramic views.
On the second day your hire vehicle will be delivered to your hotel this morning. You have the time to spend your days independently exploring Cape Town and environs: Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay, Clifton's beaches, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Kloof and Long Streets, Robben Island, Bo-Kaap, Boulders Beach, the Cape of Good Hope and Chapman's Peak. Overnight at Four Rosmead.
Drive (approx 2 hours) to the Cape Winelands and spend 2 days doing vineyard tours and wine tasting at various estates in Wellington, Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch, as well as hiking up the Bainskloof Pass or mountain biking. Overnight at Grand Dedale, a country house on a wine estate near Wellington.
Drive (approx. 7 hours) along the Garden Route to the beautiful Garden Route. Spend 3 days independently exploring the Garden Route highlights.
Drive (approx. 5 hrs) to the beautiful town of Graaff-Reinet, which was established in 1786. Spend 2 days independently exploring the town and environs. Note, we'd highly recommend a private walking tour of Graaf-Reinet and a sunset tour of the Valley of Desolation here, both of which must be booked in advance (extra cost). Overnight at Drotsdy Hotel.
Drive (approx. 1.5 hrs) to the 27,000 hectare Samara Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape's Great Karoo. Spend 3 days doing game drives, walking safaris and birding safaris. Overnight at Samara.
Return hire car to Port Elizabeth Airport (approx. 4 hrs drive). From here connect with your onward flight home.
