Expert tips

Northern Serengeti

Simply put, some of the very best game viewing in the world today is in the northern Serengeti which is full of secret valleys and ranging hills and the Mara river running through it. The Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya lies closeby across the border. Kogatende also known as Wogakuria offers great quality game viewing, but without the crowds! The migration passes through from June to November, this is an exciting time! With immense panoramic river crossings, you witness crocodiles gorging themselves, whilst indulgent Lion, Cheetah and Leopard pursue and delight in the smorgasbord of nomadic mega herds. We cannot stress enough how amazing the migration can be and if staying at one of the camps in the area during June-October as there is a very good chance of seeing a river crossing and the mass herds of the migration. With healthy resident wildlife populations, you can expect to see good plains game, spectacular predator families and birds. Plus the landscape is truly beautiful. The only accommodation options in this area are small-tented camps, luxury mobile operators and a handful of small luxury lodges. There are no public campsites, large lodges or tourist crowds. You enjoy a private concession experience in a national park located in a prime position to witness the world's greatest natural migration or simply relax and enjoy the resident wildlife around you in this untouched wilderness.

Days 15 - 17: Stone Town

After breakfast, it's time to check out and transfer to the airstrip. Here, bid your guide good bye and catch the scheduled light aircraft flight to Zanzibar, via Arusha. On arrival into Zanzibar Airport, disembark, collect your bags, and proceed to the arrivals hall. Here, meet a private driver who will transfer you to your accommodation in Stone Town.

Check in and spend your last 3 nights in Africa at Kisiwa House, in a Malkia Suite including breakfast.

Enjoy your days exploring the historic Stone Town with its amazing cobbled alleyways and beautiful Zanzibari doors, making it easy to see why this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you would like a day tour we can pre-book a spice tour for you which is a half day trip.

In the evening sit back with a drink and watch the dhows sail by whilst the sun sets- the perfect way to end your African honeymoon.
