Day 1: Salta

Welcome to Salta!

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet your guide who will transfer you to your selected hotel. In the afternoon, prepare yourself to discover this charming city in a Half Day City Tour of Salta & San Lorenzo Village.

You will discover why it is called "Salta La Linda" by visiting its main churches and historical monuments: Old Cabildo (Town Hall), Cathedral, San Francisco Church, San Bernardo Convent. Dont forget your camera because you will have  a stunning panoramic  view from San Bernardo Hill. You will also visit the Handicraft market and San Lorenzo Village – summer borough located 12 minutes drive from downtown.

After this tour, you will be transferred back to the selected Hotel.

Day 2: Salta

Today, you will enjoy a Full day tour to Cafayate so be prepared for the adventure!

Outside Salta city limits you wiill visit Cerrillos, El Carril, Coronel Moldes, Ampascachi, Talampaya, Alemania and Las Conchas River’s Gorge, declared Natural Monument by the UNESCO due to the strange rock formations and multicolored hills. Arrival at Cafayate. Located in the southernmost limit of the Calchaquí Valleys, this is the vine growing area. Many vineyards can be found only three blocks from the main square.  Some industrialized wineries can be visited in the village surroundings as well as many others that still make wine with the old fashioned methods.  Within the urban area there are many interesting places to visit: the parish church, the Handicrafts Market in the square, the Wine Museum and the Archaeological and Colonial Museums. 

Back to Salta you will drive through the “Las Conchas River’s Gorge, where the wind and water erosion have carved the mountains creating different formations, such as the Devil's Throat, the Amphitheatre (it receives this name due to the great acoustic, many singers had performed there), the Toad, the Friar.  ou will make a stop at Tres Cruces (Three Crosses) vantage point to admire a spectacular panorama.  Landscape is absolutely amazing!!

You will arrive back in Salta by late afternoon.

Day 3: Purmamarca

Another day full of excitement is ahead! Today, you will enjoy a Full day tour to Humahuaca Gorge where you will visit its main colonial villages: Purmamarca and the Seven Colors Hill, Maimará and its typical heights cemetery, Tilcara and its “Pucará”(Indian Fortress), Huacalera and monument indicating Tropic of Capricorn, Uquia hosting the oldest chapel of the region and Humahuaca, old omaguacas native settlement located at 2940m. On the way back you'll stop at Purmamarca where you'll spend the night.

Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama

At scheduled time, you will take a regular bus or a private vehicle to go to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile through the Jama Path, drive up the Lipan Slope to Salinas Grandes (Salt flats),  Salar de Quisquiro. You will arrive at San Pedro de Atacama where you will spend 3 nights.

Day 5: San Pedro de Atacama

The morning will be at leisure. In the afternoon, you will visit  the Moon Valley and the Salt Mountain Range to enjoy a great geological spectacle that has been repeatedly compared with the surface of the moon.

After this incredible tour, you will return to the Hotel.

Day 6: San Pedro de Atacama

Today, you will have to wake up early to depart for an excursion to El Tatio Geysers, a geothermal field flanked by soaring Andean peaks. At dawn, powerful spurts of steam erupt out of the ground through various blow holes. You will enjoy a short hike through the geothermal field.  On the way back, you will have time to relax and enjoy at thermal baths of Puritama, the indigenous word for "hot water", situated in the heart of the Atacama desert, approx. 19 miles (30 km) north of San Pedro de Atacama, and 11,398 ft. (3,475 m) above sea level. Opened to the public for tourism only a few years ago, the hot springs preserve their original purity and charm.

You will then return to the Hotel for a well deserved rest and to prepare for departure tomorrow.

Day 7: End of Itinerary

At scheduled time you will be transferred from your hotel to Calama Airport or to Salta (by bus or private) to take your flight to your next destination.
