Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Day 1 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Begin your adventure with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Arusha by your SafariHQ guide, who will provide a brief safety orientation and an overview of your upcoming safari itinerary. Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive south to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

Spend the day on thrilling game drives through this beautiful park, named after the life-giving Tarangire River that winds through its heart. The landscape is dotted with towering baobab trees, rolling savannahs, and acacia woodlands that attract an impressive array of wildlife. Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds—the biggest population in northern Tanzania, numbering over 3,000 individuals.
