On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you check in for your scheduled charter flight to Mfuwe Airport close to the South Luangwa National Park. You are transferred to the lodge (40 minute drive). This is quite a busy road and as you travel through the villages, your drive is punctuated by the opportunistic greetings of savvy youngsters, who wave madly in the hope of sweets!
On arrival at Nkwali you settle into your family suite. The family suite has an en suite bedroom and a separate sitting room which can sleep two children.

Your family safari will be tailored to your family’s needs and children’s ages and attention spans. Broadly speaking you usually enjoy an early morning game drive immediately after early morning tea and coffee, as the animals rise early to hunt in the cool of the day. Child minding is available if you have very young children. The game drive finishes in time for brunch, which will be keenly appreciated after your early morning start! After brunch, you can simply relax around the lodge or at the fenced swimming pool during the heat of the day.
Afternoon tea is served just before your late afternoon game drive. This drive will introduce you to some of the nocturnal animals and their predators as they become active and begin to hunt. You stop for drinks at sunset to enjoy the sounds and smells of the bush before continuing with the night drive, depending on how tired your children are. Afterwards you return for an atmospheric dinner back at the lodge. Children can eat special children’s meals as soon as they return to camp as they will be hungry after the exciting day.

4 nights Lower Zambezi, Full Board & Game activities
Today you enjoy a scheduled charter flight from Mfuwe back to Lusaka and then on to the Lower Zambezi airstrip for your four night safari in the Lower Zambezi National Park. At the airstrip, you are met by your ranger for the short road transfer to Baines Rver Camp.
On safari in Lower Zambezi
This morning you decide on what activity takes your fancy. Perhaps take a boat cruise or a game drive or try your hand at tiger fishing on a catch and release basis. The lodge offers a wide variety of activities including game-viewing by skimmer boat, canoe or 4×4 game drives as well as angling.
The middle part of the day is usually spent relaxing at the lodge or swimming in the pool. The pattern for the afternoon is similar to the first day with afternoon tea followed by the safari activity. As the sun sets, you may like to enjoy a sunset boat cruise watching the animals as they come to drink at the river. Afterwards you return for an atmospheric dinner back at the lodge
Fly to Victoria Falls, 2 nights Waterberry Lodge,
Today you return to the airstrip for your flight to Livingstone (sometimes via Lusaka). On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you are met by and transferred by road to Zambezi Waterberry Lodge.
Day at leisure
Enjoy some of the optional excursions available at Waterberry Lodge. Note that one excursion is included per day. Choose from a guided tour of the Falls, boat cruise at sunrise or sunset, fishing, an island picnic, guided birding, guided village walk. If you have time, we strongly recommend adding another night as there is so much to do in this beautiful part of Zambia.

Return to Livingstone Airport
This morning you are transferred back to Livingstone Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. (Note: This regional flight is NOT included in the web price and is quoted separately on enquiry).
