Your journey starts with a comfortable pickup from Johannesburg between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle. Arrive at Pilanesberg by 9 AM and head straight into a 3-hour morning game drive in an intimate 10-seater open safari vehicle— ideal for spotting the Big Five up close. By midday, arrive at the beautiful Bakubung Bush Lodge for a delicious lunch followed by seamless check-in.

Take time to unwind, enjoy the views, or relax by the pool before your afternoon adventure. From 4 PM to 7 PM, join a sunset game drive with MoAfrika Tours in an intimate 10- seater open safari vehicle, perfectly timed for golden-hour wildlife sightings.

Return to the lodge for a superb African dinner.

Greet the day with a thrilling 3-hour morning game drive in an open safari vehicle, guided by the lodge’s skilled rangers, returning around 9 AM for a hearty breakfast.

Lounge at the lodge’s top-tier amenities—utter serenity! After a flavourful lunch, depart on a 3-hour sunset game drive from 4 PM to 7 PM in an open vehicle with a MoAfrika guide, seeking out more wildlife thrills.

Return for dinner at the lodge.

Rise early for a 3-hour morning game drive conducted by Bakubung Bush Lodge in their 20-seater open safari vehicles (returning around 9:00 AM). This satisfies the lodge’s requirement of at least one lodge-operated drive per night stayed, while giving you another excellent opportunity to spot wildlife. After the drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge.

Check out by 11:00 AM and spend the rest of the morning relaxing at Bakubung’s fantastic facilities—lounge by the pool, book a spa treatment, or enjoy lunch (at own expense). Our standard shared shuttle transfer collects guests between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM for the return journey to Johannesburg, with dropoff between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

For added flexibility or more safari time, you may choose one of the following options (R1,500 per person):

• Private transfer back to Johannesburg, departing at a time that suits you.
• Additional 3-hour open-vehicle game drive (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM) conducted by MoAfrika Tours in our intimate 10-seater open safari vehicles, with lunch included—a perfect way to extend your wildlife experience before heading home.
