Jambo! Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Classic Safaris who will assist with the transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge for overnight.

Set on the outskirts of Arusha on Tanzania's largest coffee plantation, Arusha Coffee Lodge is the ideal stopover on a Tanzanian safari. Retaining its luxurious colonial atmosphere, the lodge has wonderful views of the towering Mount Meru and is well-placed to access Tanzania's famous safari destinations.

Day 2

    

Tarangire National Park

Day notes

After breakfast this morning, depart to Oliverǯs Camp located within a hidden pocket of Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is noted for its Elephant population and spectacular baobabs of every shape creating a beautiful setting. Arrive for lunch followed by an afternoon game viewing drive. Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred back to your camp for overnight.

Oliver's Camp has one of the most wonderful settings one could imagine and offers an unparalleled bush experience. From the camp a much wider eco-system can be accessed: the Ngorongoro highlands, the Great Rift Valley, the Lake Manyara region and of course Tarangire National Park itself. There is no better location from which to understand the breathtaking beauty and at the same time the complexity and ultimate fragility of this unique eco-system.

Day 3

    

Tarangire National Park

Day notes

On the second day, you will have a full day game viewing drive in the park with all meals and overnight at the camp.

A lot of migratory animals aim to reside here during the dry season. You can see groups and herds of animals like 600 elephants followed by zebras, buffalos and oryxes who ventured from the Maasai to the Tarangire in search for water. There are also a few lions prowling around and looking for unsuspecting preys around the jungle. Some of the other animals that you may see here are antelopes, warthogs, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, foxes, jackals and waterbucks.

After breakfast, depart to the beautiful Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that shimmers in a cleft in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive and embark on a game viewing drive.

Tucked below the majesty of the Rift Valley wall, Lake Manyara National Park consists of a thin green band of forest, flanked by the sheer 600 m high red and brown cliffs of the escarpment on one side and by the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other. Acacia woodland shelters the parkǯs famous tree climbing lions, lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day. Lake Manyara

safaris offers many unique views including elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest can be found grazing in unexpected clearings or heading towards the water to drink or wash, and the rivers and riverbeds provide scenic vistas for possible animal spotting.

Warthog seem to thrive here, growing notably fat and tuskered, and it is a natural playground for baboons and monkeys. Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred to which stands on the edge of the escarpment, overlooking the lake.

Continue to the Manor at Ngorongoro for overnight. Located in the green and rolling hills south of the Ngorongoro Crater within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor Ngorongoro with its 20 luxurious cottages and magnificent Main House is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture. Each of the cottages has been carefully positioned to maximise the views of the adjacent verdant hills but at the same time to maintain the intimacy and privacy of this old- world manor home. The Manor boasts beautiful gardens overlooking the surrounding coffee-laden hills

Day 5

After breakfast, descend into the Ǯ8th Wonder of the Worldǯ, a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Here too are all the members of the ǮBig Fiveǯ ȋlion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffaloȌ as well as a large cast of plains game and one of Africaǯs densest populations of predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving back to your lodge for relaxation before dinner

Day 6 - 8

    

Northern Serengeti

Day notes

You will be transferred this morning to the Manyara airstrip for your scheduled flight Regional Air ETD 0840hrs arriving at the Kogatende airstrip at 0930hrs in the Northern Serengeti. Spend three days with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. Other activities available include interpretative bush walks, walking safaris, bush breakfasts, and cultural visits. All meals and overnight at the camp.

The Northern Serengeti supports a good number of resident herbivores including giraffe, hippo, topi, impala and Thomsonǯs gazelle. This area is home to the largest remaining concentrations of elephants and buffalo in the Serengeti. All four large carnivores (lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena) are also resident in the Northern Serengeti

End of Itinerary

Day notes

You will have breakfast this morning. After this last taste of Africa, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight departing at 1100hrs to Arusha arriving at 1215hrs. Your guide will assist with the transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch. A day room has been reserved for you till 1800hrs. You will later be transferred to the Kilimanjaro airport for your International flight back home.
