Day 1: Volcanoes National Park

After your overnight flight, land in Rwanda’s lofty capital, Kigali where on arrival you will be met by a representative. Your hotel is a two-hour drive. Along the way, stop at the Genocide Memorial Centre, a poignant reminder of the country’s tragic history and subsequent transformation. Then journey north-west to the Volcanoes National Park where your lodge awaits nestled in the emerald mountains. Settle into your nest-like suite, order a cocktail and gaze out at the verdant wilderness.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park

Up in the Virunga Mountains, Volcanoes National Park is home to half of the region’s 780 mountain gorillas. Led by experienced trackers, today you can ascend the forest in search of one of the 10 habituated gorilla families in the area. Depending on their location, you could trek up to four hours to where you can quietly observe these extraordinary creatures for up close. You may see mighty silverbacks roaming the territory, baby gorillas huddling closely to their mothers and youngsters swinging in the trees – a truly emotional experience. After an hour with these incredible primates, head back down to the lodge.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early to go trekking through the park’s bamboo forest in search of Rwanda’s golden monkeys. You’ll spot them in groups of up to 30 and enjoy an hour watching these attractive creatures interact with each other. Afterwards, a driver will take you to Kigali, your pit-stop for the night.

Day 4: Central Serengeti

It’s an early morning wake-up call for your flight to Tanzania. From one spectacular landscape to another, arrive at the Serengeti where you’ll be met and transferred in a 4x4 to your classic bush safari camp. As you drive across the endless plains, keep an eye out for zebras, lions and giraffes among others. You’ll arrive in time for sunset– lap it up with a gin and tonic by the camp fire.

Day 5: Central Serengeti

As far as safari goes, the Serengeti comes up trumps with one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles, the wildebeest migration. Your camp sits in prime position, designed to allow you to follow the huge herds on unlimited game drives. Set off into the wild with highly-trained guides, near obsessed with the migration. Whether you witness a nail-biting river crossing or the calving season between February and March, feast your eyes on two million mammals thundering through the land. No two days are the same.

Day 6: Ndutu

After a very nice breakfast at Grand Melia safari lodge, our best guide will pick you up from your hotel to picking point where you will be taken by Miracle Experience for a wonderful experience of Balloon Safari. This will give you a wonderful and unforgettable experience of viewing animals and the park at an epic angle and if you are lucky enough you will witness the great migration of the Serengeti and after a balloon Safari which will take almost 2 hours you will go to picnic site where you will have lunch and continue with a day game drive. At the late afternoon you will return to the hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Arusha

Bid farewell to the African Bush. A driver will take you to the airstrip from where you will fly to Arusha for a day Tour and relaxation at the hotel.
