10-day South African Showcase

Day 1: Sun City

On arrival at OR Tambo International airport you will collect your luggage and proceed through custums, thereafter you will be met by a Southern Africa 360 representative before transferring to Sun City Resort. We highly recommend a stop at Emporers Palace for a quick bite before embarking on the 3 hour journey. Check in at your hotel after 14:00 and spend the rest of the day exploring the extensive facilities the resort has to offer.

This evening you are able to enjoy a scrumptious dinner at the myriad of restaurants on offer at the hotels with the use of the complimentary shuttle service.

Day 2: Sun City

After breakfast you are free to enjoy the day at your leisure further exploring the activities the resort has to offer. If you are an early riser, we recommend the Hot Air Ballooning Safari which launches with Pilanesberg National park offering a truly unique flying experience or a game drive in the National Park where you will be enthralled by Africa's famous Big Five in their natural habitat. You can opt for lunch inside the Park or at the Resort many restaurants on offer, If you are looking to unwind, relax on a sun lounger at the pool  or at the Valley of the waves, a man-made beach lapped by crystalline waters. End of you day with dinner at one of  the restaurants.

Day 3: Pilanesberg National Park

This morning after breakfast, proceed on yourscheduled transfer to Pilanesberg National Park and your Lodge which lies in the heart of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The reserve is set within the crater of an ancient volcano – one of the largest of a very rare formation. This ancient configuration comes hand-in-hand with various indicators of the presence of early man in the region. This is showcased through the numerous Stone and Iron Age sites that are scattered throughout the Park. After check in and a delicious lunch you will depart on an afternoon game drive in the Pilanesberg National Park is a sought-after wildlife destination in a malaria-free zone.  The park is home to the big five and only 2 hours from Johannesburg. The unique biosphere of the Pilanesberg National Park is home to one of the country’s most famous wildlife areas. The park is set in an ancient volcanic crater. This well-stocked reserve has a dramatic landscape that supports a wide variety of plants, animals and birds. End your day with a 5 star dining experience that perfectly compliments your stay at the Lodge.

 

Day 4: Knysna

This morning at the Lodge, you will start with a warm beverage, game drive (time permitting) and end your stay with a hearty breakfast before transferring to  OR Tambo International Airport for your flight to George.

On arrival at George Airport you will collect your luggage and be met by a Southern Africa 360 representative before transferring to Knysna, a lovely seaside town along the Garden Route. The afternoon are free to explore the town making sure to visit the Knysna Waterfront, one of the most popular leisure and shopping destinations in the regions, boasting a superior marina and the departure point all water sports and activities ending the day with dinner at one of their famous restaurants.

Day 5: Knysna

After breakfast you will proceed on a Full Day Tsitsikamma Tour passing Plettenberg Bay, a seaside town on the Garden Route in South Africa’s Western Cape Province. The sandy Central Beach and Lookout Beach both have surf breaks. To the south, Robberg Nature Reserve is a rocky peninsula with trails and the Stone Age Nelson Bay Caves. Northeast are Birds of Eden, a free-flight bird sanctuary in indigenous forest, and an elephant sanctuary. Whales come near the coast in migration season.

The Tsitsikamma National Park is a protected area on the Garden Route, in the Western and Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is a coastal reserve well known for its indigenous forests, dramatic coastline, and the Otter Trail. In 2009 the park was amalgamated with the Wilderness National Park and various other areas of land to form the Garden Route National Park.

End the day with a visit to Knysna Waterfront, one of the most popular leisure and shopping destinations in the regions, boasting a superior marina and the departure point for your Sunset John Benn Cruise (weather permitting) ending the day with dinner at one of their famous restaurants.

Later this afternoon/evening you will enjoy a leisurely sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon (weather permitting).

Day 6: Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, you will depart on a full day tour to Oudtshoorn, located in heart of the scenic the Klein Karoo known for its ostrich farms and rests along the Route 62 wine route. Here you will enjoy visiting the famous Cango Caves (Africa’s Biggest show cave system) before proceeding onto Cango Wildlife Ranch and ending the day feeding ostriches at Safari Ostrich Farm. After the tour you will Check in at your hotel and spend the evening exploring the town at your leisure and ending your evening by enjoying a delicious dinner offered at the Hotel or a nearby restaurant.

Day 7: Cape Town

After breakfast, you will depart to Cape Town more commonly known as the 'Mother City', along the R62 wine route passing many smaller towns along the way with many opportunities to stop for lunch.

After check in you are free to explore the surrounding area and visit any of the Local restaurants within walking distance which includes an Indian Restaurant.

Day 8: Cape Town

Today you will enjoy a half day City Tour where you will find a number of the Cape's top attractions, from Table Mountain to the imposing Castle of Good Hope to the colourful cottages of the Bo Kaap, the bustling Green Market Square, the South African Museum, and the beautiful Company Gardens.

Should the cableway up Table Mountain not be operating you will be taken to Table View for a “postcard view” of Table Mountain. 

The afternoon you are at leisure, we can recommend spending some time at the V&A Waterfront which has a wide variety of shops, entertainment and restaurants on offer. 

Day 9: Cape Town

After breakfast you will be met by your guide and embark on a full day touring of the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula. See all the top sights along South Africa’s Cape Peninsula on this full-day tour from Cape Town. Explore Hout Bay and take an optional boat trip to Duiker Island (own expense). Spend time at leisure in Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and take a return Funicular trip to the top of Cape Point and visit Simon’s Town on the peninsula’s east coast - home to a colony of African penguins! On the drive back you may have time to stop for a walk at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

This morning, you last day in Cape Town, you will start with delicious breakfast before transferring to Cape Town International Airport for your departure flight.
