Days 1 - 3: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Welcome to Zambia! On arrival at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport you will be met by a representative from Victoria Falls who will welcome and transfer you to Victoria Falls Hotel. You will spend the first three nights of your tour here. 

One of the world’s Classic five-star hotels commands prime location overlooking Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, an acclaimed Natural Wonder of the World. A proud member of  Leading Hotels of the World, the Edwardian-style hotel, built in 1904, was splendidly redecorated in 2013 to combine its traditional majesty with modern sophistication.

Serene Lily ponds, arched loggias and broad verandas – offering magnificent vistas – seem custom-built for a spot of high tea or a relaxed gin and tonic, while a private path leads to the falls, an idyllic 10-minute walk away. Some rooms offer stunning views of the gorges and bridge below.

Days 4 - 6: Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia

Today you will be transferred to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport to check in for your scheduled flight to Jeki Airstrip in Lower Zambezi. On arrival at Jeki, a representative from Royal Zambezi will welcome and transfer you there. You will spend the next three nights of your tour here.

Royal Zambezi Lodge, a spacious but intimate privately owned lodge, situated in Zambia on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River just minutes from the Lower Zambezi National Park and directly opposite Zimbabwe’s famous Mana Pools World Heritage Site. Royal offers the ultimate in luxury and cuisine while enjoying and participating closely in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Days 7 - 8: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

As your tour continues to get more exciting today we take you to South Luangwa National Park. In the morning you will be transferred to Jeki Airstrip to check in for your scheduled flight to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa. On arrival at Mfuwe, you will be transferred to Kafunta River Lodge situated along Luangwa River. You will spend two nights of your tour here. 

Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge and combines all the essentials for a great safari. Here you will find the rest and peace you need after an exciting day on safari in combination with personalised service and a warm welcome from the Kafunta team.

Kafunta River Lodge’s spacious wooden deck above the waterhole provides guests with undisturbed views over the plain. You can absorb the stunning location and, while darkness falls, enjoy sumptuous candlelit meals under a vast African night sky, whilst watching animals of all types come to the floodlit waterhole, a simply magical experience.

Days 9 - 10: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Today you will be transferred through the park to Three Rivers Camp, latest addition to the Kafunta Safaris’ portfolio and is set at the confluence of the Luangwa, Kapamba and Lusangazi Rivers in South Luangwa, Zambia. You will spend the next two nights of your tour here. 

Three Rivers Camp is exquisitely intimate with only 5 spacious tents, elegantly decorated with natural materials and earthy hues. They have large gauzed windows embracing extensive views of the Luangwa River and the nearby lagoon. Each tent has its own wooden deck with comfy chairs to enjoy the surrounding vistas.

Day 11: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

After your morning game activity today you will be transferred through the bush back to Kafunta River Lodge. You will spend one night of your tour here.

Days 12 - 14: Mumbo Island, Cape Maclear, Malawi

It's now time to head for Malawi's crowning jewel, Lake Malawi dubbed the Lake of Stars. You will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport for your scheduled flight to Lilongwe International Airport. On arrival at Lilongwe International Airport a Malawian Style guide holding a signboard with your name will welcome and transfer you to Kayak Africa Cottage in Cape Maclear. On arrival at Kayak Africa, you will have a scheduled flight to Mumbo Island situated right on Lake Malawi. You will spend the last three nights on your tour here. 

Mumbo Island is a pristine and deserted tropical island floating on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi National Park. With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colourful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkelling and SCUBA diving in the world.

The island is small, only one kilometre in diameter, and uninhabited so is in its natural state. The camp is hand built with timber, thatch and canvas and perched high on large boulders overlooking the lake.

Day 15: End of Itinerary

End of your tour! You will be transferred by boat to the mainland at Kayak Africa for your road transfer to Lilongwe International Airport.
