Jalapada: Jalapão and Chapada das Mesas

Arrival in Palmas (the capital of the state of Tocantins) and transfer to the hotel. Free time to familiarize yourself with the climate and to make travel arrangements: depending on arrival time, excursion to the city's river beach (optional and not included), where we enjoy an exciting sunset will experience over Rio Tocantins.

Breakfast at the pousada and departure early in the morning to visit the Laguna do Japonês, a place of rare and unique beauty, with its crystal clear waters in shades of blue and with its rock formations for those who want to relax and enjoy the breathtaking nature. Lunch in a local restaurant with typical dishes of the region. Followed by a visit to Pedra Furada, a giant sandstone sculpted by wind and rain, where you can watch the immensity of the region and the sunset until the last second.

Breakfast at the pousada and departure to Mateiros to visit the Sussuapara Gorge. Here, 15-meter-high sandstone walls open up to make way for the small waterfall, which supposedly fulfills wishes. All you have to do is go under the waterfall, close your eyes and express your wish. The next stop will be the Rio Novo community to get in touch with the local people and learn a little more about the history of the place. On the way we will discover the Serra da Muriçoca (sandstone formation that cuts through the region). Lunch at a local restaurant and after a short break, a relaxing swim in the waters of the largest drinking water river in Brazil, Prainha do rio Novo, also known as Sr. Pixico Beach.

Next, you will visit the Jalapão Dunes, a natural spectacle with a height of 200 to 400 meters, from where you can admire the beautiful landscape of the sand, which reflects the sunlight in different shades of gold, mixed with the blue of the rivers and the green typical ones Shrubs Region that thrives on the edge of the springs. After the visit, departure to Mateiros, overnight and dinner in the pousada.

Note: the visit to Canion Sussuapara can be modified at the discretion of the guide according to the daily road conditions to visit the Cachoeira da Velha.

Free morning in the enchanted fountain of Formiga (exclusive attraction of the Formiga Ecolodge). After lunch in a local restaurant, we leave the Fervedouro dos Buritis and follow the Fervedouro do Rio Sono.

Before dinner, take another dip in the enchanted fountains of the Formiga River for a night swim.

The visit to Fervedouro Rio Sono or Buritis can be modified at the discretion of the guide by a visit to Fervedouro da Lagoa Azul.

The day starts very early with a trekking (optional) to enjoy the sunrise in a breathtaking landscape. Return to the pousada and breakfast. Next, we will go to the Formiga waterfall, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Jalapão, with its emerald green water that allows for a relaxing and refreshing bath for the body. One of the most desirable and beautiful places to swim, dive and swim.

From there we will continue the visit to the Fervedouro das Macaúbas and have lunch in a local restaurant.

Then departure to the place that most impresses tourists and researchers, a fountain of crystal clear water that is impossible to sink into and those who bathe in it have the special feeling of swimming, the Fervedouro do Ceiça.

In the afternoon we will visit the community of Quilombola Mumbuca or Do Prata to learn a little more about the customs and habits of the local people.

At night anyone who wants can experience the feeling of a night bath (Buritizinho, Macaúbas, Bela Vista or others, depending on availability and better logistics, to be determined by the guide).

After breakfast in the pousada, departure to visit the Fervedouro of Bela Vista. Followed by a visit to the parrot waterfall and lunch. After lunch visit the Serra da Catedral. This little-explored natural beauty is a thousand-year-old rock formation that resembles a large church facade. Finally departure to Palmas.

Early in the morning transfer to Carolina.

Departure by 4 x 4 jeep along the Chapada das Mesas National Park with destination to the spectacular São Romão and Prata waterfalls (the largest in the region). Opportunity to swim and hike amidst the lush vegetation. After lunch (not included), take the road back to Carolina, not before taking a short 600-meter walk to the Portal da Chapada (postcard of the region) for an unforgettable sunset.

Free evening

Departure, with 4 x 4 jeeps, to the place Riachão (100 km) with destination Encanto Azul, where we could dive into blue and crystal clear water (possibility of snorkeling) After lunch (not included) in the tourist complex Santa Barbara we visit the Poço Azul who have favourited Santa Paola, do Moreno and Santa Bárbara Waterfalls.

Return to the hotel in Carolina and evening free.

Departure by 4x4 jeep to reach the Ecological Complex of Pedra Caida, where we will hike a path between the walls of a small canyon to the beautiful waterfall of the sanctuary. Possibility for other activities on site (optional and not included). After lunch (not included) we will continue the journey to Imperatriz where we will spend the last night.

Free morning and possible excursion (optional and not included) to the river beach on the Rio Tocantins.
Transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
