Day 1: Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya!

Nairobi is a hub for dynamic and innovative artists, journalists, entrepreneurs and businesspeople, and the city is constantly changing. This city leaves the traveler with a true taste of one of Africa’s most vibrant cities.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by Safariline's Representative and transferred to your Hotel. The rep will help with checking in at your hotel and brief you for the safari ahead.

This 2 nights stay at Tamarind Tree Hotel is on a Bed & Breakfast basis not including drinks (except coffee/tea with breakfast).   Lunch is included on your Nairobi tour tomorrow.

Day 2: Nairobi

Pick up from the hotel at 10:00 hours by the your driver guide for a full day with visits to Nairobi highlights. This tour offers you a great experience including the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage, AFEW Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen Museum.

Today your wildlife adventure begins as you traverse Nairobi National Park enroute to the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage. The world's only national park within the boundaries of a capitol city contains many of the animal species you have come to Africa to see including lion and rhino.

Between 11am and 12 noon every day at Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage, you find the elephants being fed and playing. In addition, there is a keeper who will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. You can get really close to the elephants. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino. Daphne & David Sheldrick Animal Orphanage Wildlife Trust is a small flexible charity, established in memory of David Sheldrick, famous Naturalist and founder Warden of Kenya's giant Tsavo East National Park in which he served from 1948 until 1976.

African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya limited also known as the Giraffe Centre was founded in 1979 by the late Jock Leslie-Melvile, a Kenyan citizen of British descent and his wife the late Betty Leslie Melvile an American citizen.  Jock’s extra ordinary vision of creating an educational institution in conjunction with rescuing the endangered Rothschild giraffes resulted in the present-day Giraffe Centre that has become a World-famous Nature Education Centre.

Karen Blixen Museum is located on the outskirts of Nairobi on Karen road. Its history dates back to 1914, during the First World War, with the arrival of Karen Blixen from Denmark. At the foot of Ngong Hills, Karen Blixen established herself as a farmer. After her departure in 1931, the suburbs retained the commemorative home of Karen. This is the beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1914 and 1931, until she left Kenya after a series of personal tragedies.
