Upon arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you will be met for your road transfer to Umkumbe Safari Lodge, where you will stay in a luxury tented suite. Once you arrive at the lodge, check-in, settle in, and enjoy high tea before setting out on your first afternoon game drive to begin your search for the animals, including the Big Five.
The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will wake up before dawn for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then, you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.
When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a delicious hot breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and absorb being out in the bush. If you prefer an activity-filled day, guided bush walks are on offer.
After high tea, the afternoon game drive will start around 3:30–4:00 PM. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals.
After your final morning game drive to look for the last remaining animals that have eluded you, enjoy a warm breakfast and depart the lodge for your road transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where your safari comes to an end.
