A Typical Day at Pioneers Lodge, Victoria Falls

Morning:
Wake up in your comfortable, air‑conditioned room and enjoy breakfast on your private veranda or at the lodge dining area, surrounded by lush gardens. After breakfast, head out for a guided tour of Victoria Falls, strolling along the scenic pathways and viewpoints. 

Midday:
Return to the lodge to relax by one of the two swimming pools or enjoy a light lunch. The lodge’s shaded gardens and lounge spaces are perfect for unwinding or catching up on a bit of reading.

Afternoon:
Adventure seekers can take a helicopter flip over the Falls — a short, exhilarating flight offering panoramic views of the cascading water and the Batoka Gorge below. Alternatively, you could book a day trip to Chobe National Park, crossing the border into Botswana for a combination of river and land safari to spot elephants, lions, hippos, and more.

Evening:
After freshening up, join a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, drifting along calm waters at sunset with wildlife and birds appearing along the riverbanks. Later, immerse yourself in an authentic cultural experience at The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show, enjoying traditional African cuisine around a fire while local performers entertain with drumming, dancing, and storytelling. It’s a lively, unforgettable evening that combines great food with a festive, local atmosphere.

Wake to the soft dawn light over the Zambezi floodplains, with elephants and impalas grazing nearby. After a steaming cup of coffee on your veranda, head out with your guide for a morning game drive or walking safari, spotting lions, elephants, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, then relax by the river or pool, or take a quiet canoe ride, drifting past hippos and birds as the bush comes alive around you. In the afternoon, set out for a second safari, capturing the animals’ most active moments and learning the secrets of the wilderness from your expert guide.

As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner overlooking the plains, followed by dinner under the stars with the sounds of the African bush all around. Retire to your tented suite, immersed in the tranquility and magic of Mana Pools.

As the afternoon cools, head out for a second game drive or a guided walking safari, experiencing wildlife at its most active. Finish the day with a sundowner and dinner around the fire pit, reflecting on the day’s sightings under Hwange’s starry skies.
